Endless Desert

"Curses! I have been walking forever and only living I have encountered are these annoying demon beasts. Fuck off!"

With a swift slash Subaru had killed another demon beast.

"These guys are relentless aren't they. Where in the fucking world am I? It feels like forever but I have yet to see the sun. Does the sun never shine here? Why the fuck are there so many of them here? So many questions, none answers. Fuck! These beasts are really annoying. If you all want to die so badly, fine by me."

Quickly rushing in the battle, he performed quick slashes to kill those demon beasts. One of them had managed to bite his shoulder. Subaru stabbed its face and broke the mask. He didn't care about the wound because they were going to heal anyway.

All these time of his traveling and fighting he had managed to learn something. This desert is filled with these white skulled creatures. There are so many of them with various shapes and sizes. Some are like humanoid, some like lizards, some like frogs. Some big, some small. The smaller were in groups and were problems. The bigger ones were kinda slow but they had power.

Subaru personally preferred the smaller ones in groups. Why? They were annoying at times like right now. But the thing is that recently he found that the more of these creatures he killed, the stronger he grew.

The wound on the shoulder was almost fully healed as he killed five more of those creatures. The rush of power as the energy inside him grew the more he killed these creatures was intoxicating. He loved every bit of it.

"Ahhh!!!! It feels so great to kill these demon beasts. Slice and dice. Hahahaha!!!! Die, die, die. Where the fuck do you think you are running?"

Chasing and cutting the head of the beast that was about to run away,

"It feels absolutely great. HAHAHAHAHAHA….hahahaha….. if only I had this kind of power before. I wouldn't have been so pathetic."

A single tear fell, his heart was consumed by guilt. His heart knew they were nothing but mere excuses. He had haxx of a power, return by death. He could have saved them if he persisted long enough but he ran away. That was the truth.

'Why must you sacrifice for them?'

'Why must you save them?'

'Why must you blame yourself?'

"Stop talking in my head."

'They didn't know you.'

'They didn't understand you.'

'They were the selfish ones.'

Hearing those words instead of feeling anger and irritation like usual, it calmed him. His feeling of guilt disappeared, so did his sadness. He felt so calm that it felt hollow.

"What did you do to me?"

He asked the voice in his head as he looked at his white hand. There was no response. Subaru shaked his head in disappointment.

It's not like he was completely oblivious. He knows he has changed, the white part in his body feels very inhuman. His gut telling him that the sword, that crazy voice and his transformation were all related.

"Oh well atleast I am strong now. And I can get my revenge on these witchfiends. Let's go and search for another group of them, my partner. I am gonna annihilate them all."

Somewhere in the desert,

"HAHAHAHAHA DIE PATHETIC CREATURES. Weak doesn't deserve to live. CEEROOO!!!! HAHAHAHA I AM THE STRONGEST."

"Why? We weren't ordered to massacre this colony. Why did you kill everyone?"

"Give me a break! We weren't ordered not to kill them either."

"Aizen-sama ordered us to search for Vasto Lorde. Slaughtering massive numbers of hollows goes against that mission."

"Not everyone out here follows Aizen-sama's order. I bet the ones who came after us were part of some rebellion or something. Doesn't killing them benefit Aizen-sama?"

"Did you really do it for Aizen-sama?"

"Hehe, Isn't that what it looked like?"

"Besides there's no way-"

"Umm, excuse me. I am kinda lost. Can you guys tell me where the nearest village or town is?"

Nnoitra was startled. He immediately took a battle stance and questioned, "Who are you?"

The person in question raised his hands and tried not to cause any suspicion. He truthfully answered, "My name is Natsuki Subaru. I just wanted to ask where the nearest town or village is?"

"Huh? Town? Village? The fuck you are talking about? By the way what the hell are you?" Nnoitra was suspicious. This guy, he can't feel his reiatsu at all. Same for the Nelliel, she too was in alert mode.

"Of course I am a human. What else would I be? I am searching for, you know settlements. You know groups of people living together…."

'Human? human he says. Is he kidding me?'

"Hehe hehe HAHAHAHa oi oi oi are you joking me, you say you are a human? A human? Interesting." Dragging his weapon he stood in front of Subaru and stared at him, "Say human do you know what place is this??"

Scratching his hair with the embarrassed expression, "Umm...no. I mean I am kinda lost."

"This is hueco mundo. A place where sun doesn't shine. A place of endless desert. A place where no souls exist. So, do you get what I mean, human?" Giving a menacing smile, he brought his face close to Subaru's ear and repeats his sentence in a low voice, "Do you get what I mean human?"

Subaru immediately jumped back and called out to his partner. It's been such a long time, he doesn't even remember when he came to this desert. There's no sense of time here. But he knows it has been a long time.

All this time, he was not only mindlessly fighting but also collecting information. It's a good thing that he didn't need to eat or drink here. In his time here, he has met different kinds of demon beasts. They called themselves hollows.

'Just when I thought I finally met some humans, I had to be disappointed. But a human looking hollows, that's new. Some kind of evolved form. Just like they told."

"Are you guys vasto lorde?"

"Vasto lorde? DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME!!!! HUMAN!!! I AM ESPADA!"

"Nnoitra wait!"

Nel tried to stop Nnoitra but Nnoitra had already rushed at him. Nnoitra felt that the guy infront him was mocking him. Calling him vasto lorde. He is a god damn arrancar and Espada no.8. He rushed with his zanpakuto Santa Maria to strike at him.

Subaru narrowed his eyes. He didn't want to attack them, they looked very human like. In the end, they too are witchfiends.

"Don't blame me. Spirit slash!"

A blackish purple crescent slash got blasted from the sword. The slash straight up cut Nnoitra's Santa Maria in half and cut through his hierro nearly cutting him in half. Blood spilled from his chest.

"Im... possible...How…." Nnoitra fainted.

"NNOITRA!!!"
