Campus Prince to King of Simps

“Of all the things a peasant could’ve stolen from me, why did it have to be my heart?” As the sole heir of a powerful family, Cadmus is highly respected by everyone. Lie

Blair Winifred, that purple-haired, pink-eyed scatterbrain who's not enamored by his rugged appearance and charming personality, and is certainly not an elegant lady of high-breed society.

Blair Winifred, whose parents carry a societal status that is far, far, far from impressive.

Blair Winifred, whose intelligence isn't anywhere remarkable yet still managed to enter a well-esteemed private academy for some unknown reason.

'Sure, she is cute and all, and she has shiny hair and sparkling eyes, but she isn't a stunning beauty by any means! How could she possibly be when she'd always trip over those chubby legs of hers?!'

As if he had the power to summon with his thoughts, he noticed Blair coming in his direction, looking like a field of lavenders and cherry blossoms bobbing below a grey, dull sky with those distinct features of hers. Cadmus tries to show no reaction whatsoever as he watches her turn the corner with her friend, Hershey, by her side.

Springing into action, Cadmus hastily shoves all the boxes and letters into a plastic bag before thrusting it into a corner of his locker with a loud, unceremonious thump.

"Why'd you suddenly throw all your chocolates into a bag like that?" Jamir asked, a perplexed expression on his, Irvin, and Russell's faces.

"I've heard that there've been ants getting into the lockers, and I don't want them getting into my chocolates," Cadmus improvised quickly and intelligently.

That is no lie, per see.

There are probably some ants even in this well-conditioned school. It's not impossible for them to happen to be hovering around the lockers.

Blair is now strolling down the hallway. Cadmus fixes his posture and holds his chin high.

Act cool. Act cool. Act cool.

He's the most sought-after ninth-grader on campus, and she's but a plain, ordinary student.

Schooling his face into the perfect picture of indifference, he puts one of his hands into his pocket while he examines his trimmed fingernails on the other. As expected, Blair and Hershey come to a stop. They make their way towards his locker, probably starstruck by the awesomeness he exudes.

"What're you stalling there like a clown for, Cadmus? You're facing away from your locker," Hershey pointed out matter-of-factly.

He flushes hard and straightens up. Trying to put on another act, he folds his arms across his chest.

"I know that! I-I... I was just stretching!"

From behind Hershey, who's shooting Cadmus a skeptic look, Blair leans forward and appears in view.

"Oh, it's His Majesty...!" she chirped, surprised as she realized why her friend had stopped walking.

"You're actually still here? I thought you already left."

His eyes widen comically, the corners twitching. He tries to keep a straight face but fails miserably.

'Had she not noticed me until now?!'
