Expecting The Unexpected

GRRIIIIN!!!"

That was my alarm, and it was blaring so loudly that I flung it to the floor. I used my pillow to hide my face and sighed because I didn't want to get up, but the alarm kept ringing, so I flung the pillow on the noisy alarm on the floor, which finally made the noise stop. Due to the sideways slumber, I used my hands to chuck my scattered hair. I rolled out of bed, put on my flip flops, and walked groggily to the bathroom, where I had a long bath like I normally do.

Today is a momentous day, therefore I went to my Wardrobe and chose a yellow shirt and a red flowery pattern pleat skirt. I put on the dress. I put on light make-up and straightened my hair, which was ideal for my first day at Kim Hugh College. I went to the dining room, where aunt had served breakfast as usual, but this time she was dressed for an outing, and Caitlin was also dressed in her high school uniform.

"Jessie, have you packed everything you'll need, such as your suitcase with enough clothing and shoes?" Aunt said as she served the tea.

I got confused "Aunt, what exactly do you mean? Why do I need clothes? ",

"Caitlin, didn't you inform her that it's a hostel College?" Aunt questioned, startled, as she sank back in her dining chair.

Caitlin paused her eating and carefully wiped her mouth, maintaining her typical indifferent look, "No I didn't, doesn't she know how to do research about the school she's going to?" she sneered, "oh, I forgot, she doesn't have a phone or a laptop so she doesn't know ". She got out of her seat and sought to leave while carrying her backpack.

"Can't you be more nicer to your cousin, Caitlin," Aunt Lauren yelled angrily.

I cracked a smile, "You don't have to scold her because she wasn't totally wrong. If I had gotten a new phone when my old one was damaged, none of this would have happened ", I whispered.

Caitlin huffed and walked away. I completed my meal and returned to my room to prepare my belongings. I packed my make-up, clothes, and whatever else I'll need for school. Aunt Lauren came into my room to assist me, and we moved the bags to the trunk of Aunt Lauren's VW bug. I observed someone inside aunt's car and gently whispered to her that it could be a thief.

Fortunately for us, there was a large stick on the ground next to me, so I picked it up and opened the car door, intending to whack the person, but when I saw that was Caitlin, I sighed, glad.

Caitlin exited and folded her arms, and aunt hissed at her, "what was the meaning of that Caitlin, you almost caused us a heart attack!"

I clasped Aunt's hands so she wouldn't scold her anymore. Caitlin sighed and shrugged her shoulders "I'm afraid I won't be able to get back into your car, Mum. Remember how you always drove me to school? I presume you've forgotten about it", Caitlin slammed the car door shut and walked furiously away from the compound.

I tried to get her to wait, but she didn't bulge. "Just leave her be Jessie, she'll come around, don't worry," aunt remarked as she gestured to me to get into the car. I sat in the left side of the driver's seat, while aunt entered the car and drove out of the compound. We had already driven half way across the street when we noticed Caitlin skimming stones.

Aunt pulled up next to her, but Caitlin pretended not to notice us. Aunt pulled down her side window, "I won't stop you from getting into my tiny car, but if you prefer walking to school, I don't mind either, and by the time you get to school, you'll already be late, and your Mr. Grumpy principal will give you the punishment of washing the teacher's toilet," and aunt sneered and attempted to drive away, but Caitlin jumped in the car right away, and I chuckled. Caitlin was still upset when Aunt dropped her off at school; she was seven minutes early and smiled as she walked away from us.

"Caitlin, don't you know how to say thank you?" Aunt said as Caitlin walked away from us. Caitlin, on the other hand, ignored her and continued walking through the school's gate.

Aunt drove us to the major rode from Utah, where we live, to Arizona, which was an 11-hour drive. We were fortunate we left at 7 a.m. because we arrived at Kim Hugh College in Phoenix, Arizona, about 5 p.m. As we approached the Kim High College Streets, my heart began to race. Aunt observed it and said, "Jessie dear, you don't have to be afraid of anything." Just be yourself, you're such a great person, I'm sure you'll make a lot of friends, she remarked, and it made me grin and feel better. As we approached the College's entrance, I opened my mouth in amazement. The college is far larger than I can convey; it is the ideal size for a city.

Aunt didn't know where the dean's office was, so she asked a student passing by who directed us there. Aunt drove there and parked her car in the parking lot, so we had to walk the rest of the way to the dean's office, which was a huge detached tiny structure to our right. Aunt and I down the stairs and entered the building. The building's inside was quite appealing and gorgeous.

The building comprises five rooms, which I suppose are the offices of the accounting department. The first office door we came across was labeled DEAN'S OFFICE.

When we knocked on the door, a voice said, "Come in." We walked in and were welcomed by a man dressed in a suit who was sitting in a recliner near his desk. He was so concentrated on what he was typing that he didn't even look at us once, but he gestures for us to seat in the chair opposite the table.

"What's your name?" he asked, his gaze fixed on what he was doing.

I was too timid to respond, so my aunt spoke for me "Jessica Hills is her name. She is a fresh student who enrolled via the internet "..

The gentleman eventually stopped what he was doing and raised his eyebrows "That is something I am aware of. I wasn't talking to you; I was talking to her ",.

Aunt was gobsmacked by his rudeness but remained silent. He asked me my name and a few other things, which I answered accurately. There was a knock on the office door, and he told the person to come in, the Dean handed me a piece of paper on which I had to fill out my information.

"Sir, the lecturer didn't show up for class today," exclaimed a female voice. I wasn't facing their side, so I couldn't see how they looked.

"And you, why are you here?" the man moaned furiously in response to what she had said.

"Sir, I implore you to do something about what I'm about to say. The other speaker, which was a male's voice, remarked, "Your favorite student Alan Wolfe has been ditching lectures." The voice was so familiar that I turned around to discover that it was Jake's. As our gazes connected, I rose from my seat.

"Jake!?"

"Crazy, Jessie?"
