Chapter 15: I'll guide you

The whole place was enveloped in silence. A cold silence.

Everyone was shocked at the response. Was she crazy? How could she reject a dance with the heir to the Forbes Consortium? Someone needs to wake her up from her sleep!!

Ariel heard all these comments but didn't move from her seat. She really couldn't dance and she didn't want to disgrace herself more so him.

Rex looked at her. Something seemed to flash inhis eyes but he hid it properly. He closed their distance and looked into her eyes. "You really can't dance?"

Ariel furrowed her brows. Didn't he gear her? Or is he playing stupid?

However, she still replied, "Yes".

Everyone was surprised at their interaction. He was playing really intimate with her and even his family members were surprised. They knew Rex. He wasn't someone who got close to people let alone women, unless he had something to gain from them. So, did he have something to gain from her?

"If that's so, I'll guide you then".

Ariel nearly blushed. His voice was gentle and mesmerizing accompanied with its deepness. His warm breath was fanning her face and she didn't know what to reply. For the first time in five years, she had forgotten how to retort.

Rex smiled in his head. He had to dance with her, if not, someone else would dance with her. He didn't want that. When Jim reported that she would be here, he found a reason not to delay the feast. And tonight, she was looking ravishingly beautiful.

Ariel couldn't bear his gaze any longer so she agreed. He brought out his palm for her to place hers in it and she did. He stroked her hand tenderly causing a weird feeling to creep into her stomach. She stood and they went down to the dance floor.

Tyra was awed while Gina was grinning from ear to ear. Tyra wasn't a fool. She could tell the atmosphere that engulfed the duo's arena some minutes ago and even the dance floor where they stood. She swore to interrogate her friend till she said the last letter about what was going on between her and Rex Forbes.

Kiera clenched her fists anger as she looked at the duo that were swaying lovingly under the spotlight. She hated the sight. She didn't see the girl's face clearly as the girl was wearing a net-veil that covered her face leaving only her eyes.

So, it's all because of this bitch! Rex how dare you mess with me because of her?!
