Introduction

In order to understand my story, I need to start at the very beginning. The day I discovered my question started like any other. An ordinary day of school, work, and depression. I was feeling lost, confused, and maybe even a little curious. For no apparent reason, I decided to change something for just one day. Keeping everything the same, day after day, gets boring. It's a sad existence when nothing really gets more interesting. After a few months of living life like that, I noticed that life had started to seem pointless, more than it ever had before.

The first change I made was to try a different cafe in town and try a different route to school because of it. The cafe was a small place and most of the patrons looked like hipsters straight out of 2016. Some trends are meant to die, and these people never got the message. That said, there wasn't a lot of people there, probably because it was pretty early in the morning. I ordered my stuff and sat down. I looked around until I noticed the small row of books on a windowsill nearby. My next move was to investigate, and I realized that they had some really good books in there. I grabbed a book, sat down, and waited for my order.

When the barista called my order I put my finger in the book so I wouldn't lose my page. I started talking to the barista and she told me that her name was Andromeda. We flirted for a bit and I asked her on a date. She said yes and we agreed to meet up at a park next weekend. When I sat down and opened the book again, I took a sip of my drink and was blown away at how delicious it was. I got excited and tried the food. I figured that if the coffee was good, then the food might be good too. The food there was probably the best breakfast I'd had in a long time.

Afterward, I went to school. Now you should know that my school is huge. I mean, my school has more than a thousand students and the campus can fit all of them. At school, I talked to my best friend. Her name is Olive Christos. Olive was helping me process a recent idea that I was still refining. When I brought the idea to her, she gave me her honest criticism, and it kind of stung. She tends to be a bit on the brutally honest side. I know that she genuinely accepts me for who I am because I accept her for who she is now and for the man she used to be. Olive has been my best friend since kindergarten. The main difference is that when we met, she was named Christopher. Oh yeah, and she was a "he" back then. A lot of things have changed since then, and I feel lucky that our friendship lasted through middle school and high school.

Later, after I listened to my professors drone on about their midterms next month and their upcoming in class discussions, I went to work. I worked at a small pet store in the town square because I loved being with the sweet little guys that just want homes full of love. Sadly, I couldn't afford to keep any of them. But that was before the tests.

I'm not sure what happened or why, but blacked out as soon as I walked in my house.
