Violet

Where was I? What was happening? I was in a small dark room. I couldn’t see the walls, the only thing that illuminated this place was a few candles placed on a table. It took me a few minutes to realise that a woman was sitting on a chair in the shadows.

She had auburn hair and light skin. I noticed something about her though, her eyes weren’t a normal colour. They were grey, not the normal colour for grey eyes either. They were more the colour of people's eyes when they got possessed. It was sort of creepy.

She stood up, to reveal a dark red dress. She also had a nice belt to go with the dress on. I had seen something like it at a store before, I think they called it a mermaid dress? It looked amazing on her.

She walked toward me, then took off her belt. I wondered why she had done that. Was she going to undress? What was she doing? Did she know that I was a minor? What the heck was going on?

She stood there holding the belt for a few seconds. She seemed harmless so I just stood there too. I’ve been told I’m too trusting and this was one of those times.

I expected her to drop the belt but…she didn’t. Instead, she ran behind me and put it around my neck. This was a really inconvenient time for my slow reaction time. I only realised what was happening once she had the belt around my neck and she was pulling it tighter. It was slowly becoming harder to breathe. My ears were ringing and I was finding it harder to focus on things.

Maybe my body was acting on its own but I felt my legs move and kick her. I don’t know where but I kicked her and she loosened up the belt.

I could finally breathe. My neck hurt so much but I still had to stay focused. There was still a crazy lady in here. I still had the belt around my neck and those candles were somehow still lit.

I could use the belt to tie her to the table. I would just need to get a hold of both her hands. For that to happen I would need to get on top of her or something and that was not going to happen. The lady was up and so was my thinking time. I grabbed a candle from the table and just threw it.

It hit her straight in the face. The one time I could hit something.

I could imagine one of my classmates yelling “HEADSHOT!” As I threw that.

I heard her scream in pain as the wax burned her skin. As someone who took a candle-making class and got burnt so many times, it’s so painful. I decided to throw another candle to maybe make a burn worse or something? I didn’t really know. But it seemed like my throwing skills were no longer working.
