Rhea held the heavy weight of the file in her hand. Tonya’s criminal life, proven for the record, might go up in flames tonight. She wantedit to go up in flames tonight.
But only after one last breakfast brainstorming session. “Lead the way, Murph.”

The brunch special at The Underground Diner was chicken and waffles. Since that was what Rhea was already craving, she allowed the waitress to load up her plate. Murphy ordered the steak and eggs combo. They bickered back and forth for a while about the best meal, their last meals, and the most magical events that had brought them here.
“What would you do?” he asked after they’d finished their meals. “If you had only one day for freedom like Tonya had had? Would you have done the same?”
Rhea worried this was a trick question. When Murphy’s face seemed innocent, so blithely so, she leaned in. “I would have had sex first. Especially with that eye software? Oh. What a dream.”
