Lydia scampered like a lost puppy around the house, her phone in her hand as she tried to dial Sebastian's number over again .
"Answer, you son of a bitch!"
She released a high pitch scream of desperation as she threw the phone against the wall shattering it to small pieces.
"Lydia! What the hell ! I told you to stay away from here for as long as possible " Sebastian's scolding rang through her ears like a mother scolding her naughty child .
Tears began rolling down her cheeks, "I couldn't stay away locked in the hills for this long . I am afraid of her but with you she won't be able to touch me ! I love you and you love me, we can leave everything behind and get out of here !"
Sebastian sighed deeply, "leave everything behind ? I don't trust you, Lydia . Not one bit . You betrayed your friend of fucking 15 years and you want me to trust you ? Hell no ! ". He approached her slowly and gripped her arm . "You are loyal to nobody and those are the scariest type of people "
A picture started forming more clearer in her head . She's done a huge mistake and there was no way she can atone. Guilt and fear began running through her veins.
"Are you-you pulling out of this now ? And throwing me to the wolves ? Don't Sebastian ! She'll kill me . I-I know it . Please don't !" . She clutched his arm in weakness .
"You are exaggerating ! Now please go home you need rest ...you seriously need it "
"No, you don't understand ! Not all who die are dead. You don't know her . She will end my life with a snap of her fingers . Didn't you say you love me ! So let me move in with you "
Sebastian began regretting the minute he thought of hooking Lydia . She was literal pain in the ass . And he was getting bored. But on another note, he was beginning to get curious about June's personality.
He wanted to know what Lydia knew about her too .
"No, you can't. Listen to me, what you are going to do is get out of New York right now, I'll ask my assistant to book you a ticket and you'll leave until any further notice "
Lydia shook her head, " No. No. No, I am not leaving anywhere without you."
Sebastian had to put an act. She was refusing to leave and this was threatening everything he has planned.
He placed his hands on her cheeks and looked her on the eyes with a loving gaze. "Don't you want to be safe and be able to live with me ?"
Lydia sniffed as she nodded.
"Then you have to do as I say you, Alright ?"
"But...the ball ?"
"Don't tell whoever you are going with anything or you know, don't . Just leave a text message without any other details "
"Why?"
"You are coming with me "
He strode towards June's office. He was fuming. He understood that June didn't like those kinds of parties but that didn't mean that she should ruin other peoples chances .
"June, what by the heavens are you trying to do ?"
June stared up from her laptop and grinned, " I don't mess people's life this early...I didn't have my coffee yet" . She got up from her seat and walked towards him. She hugged him, her arms lacing only around his mid section . He was tall compared to June.
Alex looked up to the ceiling as if trying to control his emotions before wrapping his arms around her. It was probably the closest he could ever get to her.
"You believe me..don't you ?" She looked up to his green eyes . Whenever she looked into his forest eyes she felt like she was searching for something but she never quite understood what it was.
She just knew that he was willing to stay and not betray her like Lydia did.
"Yeah, I'll assume "
She held his hand, "You know what she did and you still agreed to accompany her to the ball?"
He released a sigh, "I actually didn't know about the scandal only after I agreed to take her"
"Alright, I'll believe you just because you're in my circle but let me tell you" she paused and whispered in his ear, "once you lose my trust...You will no longer know me"
"I want her with nothing..her work, her family, her friends. I'll take everything from her that she'll have no shelter but me "
"Man, you're being a bit rough here, don't you think so ?" Sean rubbed his hands together.
"That's none of your business. You just do what I ask you without any questions " Sebastian growled as he finished his glass of liquor. " I have to go . I have somewhere to be. Just do what I told you and let Lydia sign the papers fast. I need her to be with me " .
Sean nodded .
"Jason, what are you saying ? We started this together and everything is going well ! Why would you want to quit now ?! It doesn't make sense ?!"
June argued with her business partner, Jason . They sat in the conference room along with all her advisors.
"June, I am no longer interested in money . I just need to settle somewhere so I'll be selling my share of the firm." Jason reasoned with her trying to keep a sharp gaze in front of June's burning one . She was angry and no one liked her when she was angry .
June rested her head between her palms. "Alright, just sell it me . I'm offering you a deal worth of 7 million for it "
Jason shook his head . "I'm sorry I've already sold it"
"What ? " June's eyes widened.
"Yes I can, it was one of the conditions on the contract we signed. I can sell it if only I quit by my will. It was you who added it so you can protect yourself but now I am the one who is making use of it"
June clenched her jaw and tried to escape everyone's eyes. "To whom ?"
"I'm not in a place to answer you " his smirk appeared.
"Leave us alone " June ordered and stood up.
Jason stood up once everyone left. "I have to leave too but before I do something I always wanted to do ". He strode to June and crashed his lips against hers. He sucked her bottom lip and tightened his grip around her hands.
She pushed him away and slapped him . "The hell ?!". She straightened her hair.
"Gosh, you taste so good! Fuck, if you just let me get between your legs " he rubbed his cheek and moaned in pain . "That was hard, baby. Would love to have your hands on something else "
June laughed, "You wish, love, after what you did " . She went to her office leaving him .
Once she entered, she saw whom she never thought she'd see in million years . Lydia. Not alone but along with Sebastian.
She immediately attacked her and grabbed her hair but Sebastian caught her . Her screams filled the whole building.
"Oh god, June stop!" Sebastian tried to pin her down . Maybe Lydia was speaking the truth.
"You little bitch! I'll cut to you to pieces and feed you to the dogs " she said as she threw her shoe at Lydia who hid under the desk and started praying .
"Stop ! " Sebastian screamed which silenced both the women. He noticed how his hands were wrapped around her waist and her head resting on his shoulder . She was very warm. He loved every second but then he remembered the reason he came for.
"That's not how you treat your new partner"
