We both drowned under the waves of words we weren't saying
June placed her head against the steering wheel of her car and let out a soft choked sob. She was handling a lot of things. A lot of things that surpassed her power. She was burning alive and she didn't know what to do.
That was the worst type of helplessness, not knowing what to do and not knowing what's really hurting you.
She felt embarrassed...so embarrassed by her weaknesses. She let her guards down for him. Only him. And yet he did this to her. She went through a lot just to make sure he was alright and no one can ever hurt him. Not even her aunt, who was back of his blood.
She gave him an excess of what men would give anything to have a drop of. Her attention solely on him. And he didn't deserve it. Not one bit.
She held the steering wheel tighter, to a point where her knuckles turned white. She banged her head a few times before looking straight.
It was alright. Just right.
"Don't you want everything he has? Where will your kids live once he gets enough of you, huh ?"
Isabella grabbed her dress tighter. June took a neat white envelope from her bag and placed it on the black coffee table.
June was with Isabella in one of the fanciest cafes in the big apple. Just a few feet off the ground. In front of her was the beautiful landscape of skyscrapers and high buildings.
"Harrison gives up his women just as we fast we change clothes"
Isabella bit her lip, " you don't like him do you ?"
June crossed her legs and placed a hand over the other resting them over her thigh. "Have you heard the saying love kills"
"What are you going to do?" Isabella asked in an almost weak whisper.
June took a deep breath and leaned in, "Do you really want to know?"
Isabella thought about it for a minute before shaking her head. She didn't need to know really. "What do you want me to do"
"You'll get a small container tomorrow of something you really don't need to know what it is and all you have to do is place some of it in Harrison's bottle of liquor. Nothing else"
Isabella looked into June's eyes trying to find some emotion in them but she failed to do so. They were cold and dead. Nothing else.
"What if-What if they get to know"
"You are not giving him poison, this will just get him to lose balance slowly and then you know" June pointed upwards, "God will do his job"
Isabella hesitated taking the envelope.
"Do it for the kids, their future" June cajoled her. Slowly and effectively. Her weak point, she found it.
Isabella took the envelope in a swift move and got up from her seat. "I hope my turn never comes"
"Oh take it easy, Isabella, I'm not insinuating murder" June said in a slow and rich voice.
Isabella left the place leaving June alone with her thoughts. She grabbed her phone and dialed Jenna's number.
"Hello?"
"Is Alexander in the firm today ?"
"Yes ? Why ? Do you want me to tell him anything?"
"Yeah let him get his ass out of my firm and give his resignation, I'll sign it tomorrow"
"But-"
June closed the call and got up, taking her purse in one hand and her jacket in another.
A few days has passed since what happened between her and Sebastian. He didn't call or ask about her and neither did she bother to do so.
And if he ever comes back she'll break the rest of him. And he will. She knows it.
