Chapter 15

Pain is meant to wake us up ...

"And this will be your room"  Sebastian said as he slid the mag stripe card to open the door to June's room .

"My room ?"

Sebastian raised an eyebrow, " yes, your room"

June nodded, her insides were fuming . She thought they would sleep in the same room but it looks like that wasn't what Sebastian had in mind.

June examined the room she was going to stay in for the next two days . And it was gorgeous. A black and golden themed room with a king sized bed in the middle. It was spacious with a huge chandelier hanging from the ceiling at the entrance . The room overlooked the never sleeping Chicago and it's city lights . A huge library that almost covered the entire wall stood proudly.

June loved it. "I mean it's a room"

Sebastian laughed and hugged her from the back "I hate to leave my baby alone but I have a conference to attend"

"Conference ? Now ?"

"Believe me the timing is more normal than you think"

June leaned her head back against Sebastian's shoulder and closed her eyes . "When are you coming back ?"

"Probably three to four hours from now"

"I think I'll miss you"

He chuckled, " you think ?"

It was becoming late and June was unable to sleep . And Sebastian was still not here. Was he really in a conference or spending time in one of the clubs or playing poker with his drunken friends ?

June crossed her legs and sighed, she bit her long nail gently, it was a sign of thinking running in the family .

She closed her eyes once the clock hit twelve . It was midnight. And he was still not back yet.

June jumped as she heard the knock on her door. It was Sebastian. She adjusted her hair and clothes before calling him in.

"Come on in"

"June ? Still awake ?"

June smiled and nodded . She patted at the empty spot next to her.

"I couldn't sleep. It's not unusual"

"So you struggle with sleeping?"

She nodded, " Yeah, it's actually something I've been struggling with for the past years but let's not to talk about it. How was the conference ?"

"Not as interesting as being with you"

He closed the few inches between their lips. His kisses were soft and yet passionate. One of her hands tugged at his hair roots lightly as his kisses travelled down her neck.

Sebastian stopped abruptly as he noticed a hickey on June's neck. He felt anger rush through his veins. Was she cheating on him ?

"June"

Oh god .

June realized that she didn't cover the hickey Alexander left. She was stupid to forget something so important as that .

What was she supposed to do now ? She had to think fast .

June's eyes instantly were filled with tears .

"I-I-"

"You're what ?!"

Gosh, he's angry ..

"I didn't want to tell you but- b-but I almost got raped"

June tried her best to look as sad as possible. She started taking rapid breaths and her face took a red color .

Sebastian's reasoning and logic were clouded. He didn't know what to think or what to say. He just knew that whoever hurt or thought that he was able to touch June like he did was going to see what hell looked like in no time.

"Di- did" Sebastian asked worriedly as he wiped June's tears with his thumbs .

"I- escaped before he could do anything"

Sebastian let out a mental sigh of relief.

Do you know him ? When did this happen? Were you alone ? Where were you ? How long did you stay silent about this . He wanted to ask her many questions but the poor girl looked devastated.

"June, do you know who did this to you?"

She nodded placing her head on his shoulder .

"Alex"

June entered the house hurriedly and started valuing her aunt .

"Aunt poll ! Aunt poll !"

She found her reading a book. "What is it, June ! You're back early" . She said her eyes still on the book.

"Something happened"

Her aunt moved her gaze to her niece. "I knew leaving you all alone was a bad idea. What happened for God's sake this time ?"

June told her the story, "he's infuriated ! He left the conference, the deal and headed directly back to New York. I don't what he's going to do next ! I'm scared !"

"You did what ? What's gotten into you to say that !"

"I-i didn't ...I was afraid and I-i . God ! What did I do ?!"

June placed her head between her hands .

"You stupid girl !" Aunt poll stood up from her place and started walking in circles  around June .

"Aunt poll ! please stop!"

"Go to Alexander's !"

"What"

"Alexander's, that's probably where he's heading . C'mon, get up, fast "

June grabbed her handbag and rushed to her car .

She started the engine and headed to Alexander's house .

She hoped she just wasn't late ....

She ran with all her strength almost tripping on her face two times.

"I'm going to kill myself ! Oh lord, I put my trust in you"

She stopped once she saw his door open. She hid behind one of the black marble pillars waiting for any noise. None.

She walked slowly towards the open door . She let out a scream once she saw Alexander laying on the ground unable to move . His face was covered with blood and his nose was severely damaged.

June kneeled down and placed his head on her lap . "Alex, please ! Alex!"

June called an ambulance, still trying to catch a breath from Alexander .

"J-ju-june"

"Alex ! Yes, I'm here"

"Yo-you'll pay for this" he said before falling unconscious again
