It's all Neal can hear now. He felt like his heart is going to explode. Is this the feeling when a normal person meet a mob? He doesn't know. He was breathing hard. His nails dug into his palms as he fisted them.
Hunter's cold eyes scanned Neal up and down and moved forward causing Neal to step back. The back of his thighs touched the armrest of the couch. Neal startled from the sudden contact, he let out a squeal before falling back. But before he fall Hunter caught his left arm and pulled Neal to his chest.
Neal's eyes widened from the closeness. Their faces were inches apart. If he isn't wrong, the man's heart is beating like crazy just like his. He can feel it under his palm which rested on Hunter's left pec.
Being this close, Neal started to notice every single thing on the man's face. Hunter's thick black brows knitted together, his slightly parted red lips and the very small mole on the left side of his upper lip. His chiseled jawline and one week stubble looked more attractive. Damn it! The man is so handsome.
Although Hunter's eyes glared at Neal's, Neal couldn't look away. He didn't even blink as he looked into those blue orbs. If it were someone else, they would have squirmed in their spot by the look Neal is giving.
Drake cleared his throat causing Hunter to let Neal go. Neal steadied himself but didn't look away from Hunter's face.
Hunter composed himself.
"The chain. Where is it?" He asked with his deep but soothing voice. Neal didn't answer. His frightened eyes now stared at Hunter's in a daze.
"Where. Is. It?"
Neal didn't even blinked.
Hunter's eyes scanned the room. There were only five guards and Brad except the four guys. He gritted his teeth in irritation. The doctor's rudeness surprised the people inside the room. Why isn't he answering their boss?
"Are you deaf?" Hunter yelled at the dazed man.
Neal flinched at the shout. Did they ask something? What did they ask? He stared at Hunter's beautifully irritated face. Now he felt the fear coming back inside him. Neal gulped down and opened his mouth to speak. He wanted to ask what did he asked, but what came out of his mouth surprised everyone, even Hunter.
"Your eyes are beautiful."
Neal breathed out. He didn't even stutter. Hunter's brows shot up at Neal's words. The guards murmured. Drake gave a WTF look to Kaiden, who is trying hard not to laugh. Kaiden's teeth dug into his lower lip, but the amusement was clear on his face. Brad didn't tried to hide the small smile, which lit up the whole face of the always grumpy man.
Hunter couldn't look away from Neal's face. The tip of his ears exposed his emotions.
"Do you know who you are talking to?"
Hunter gripped Neal's wrist painfully. Neal hissed in pain trying to retreat his hand from Hunter.
"Hunter." Drake called and gripped Hunter's tensed shoulder. "Let me."
Hunter let go Neal's hand and stepped aside. Drake stepped forward.
"You have my chain doctor. Don't you know that you should not keep someone else's belongings in your hand? Give me the chain." He said stretching out his hand. Neal looked at it rubbing his bruised wrist then back to Drake's face. The man looked scarier than others.
"NOW!" Drake's shout echoed in the room startling the guards as well.
Neal flinched and immediately dug his palm into pocket and took out the object that had brought him there.
Neal put the chain in Drake's stretched out palm. Drake sighed gripping it in his fist.
"Can....Can I go now?" Neal asked in a whisper.
Drake, Hunter and Kaiden shared a look. Hunter nodded at them before walking towards the elevator.
Neal looked the other three person left. Will they let him go now or kill him?
"You can't go anywhere anymore doc." Kaiden said flopping down on the couch and grabbed the tv remote.
"Follow me." Drake said and turned around.
***********
Drake knocked on the door before entering.
Hunter was standing by the window looking out. His hands in his pant's pocket. The sleeves of his shirt were folded up to his elbows. Top two buttons were unbuttoned showing his hard flawless chest. His tattoos and a chain similar to Drake with different pendant peeking through the shirt.
Kaiden layed back on the sofa scrolling through his phone. They were in Hunter's study.
"Where is he?" Kaiden asked Drake who sat beside him with a sigh.
"Guest room."
Hunter turned around and walked towards his desk. He leaned against it and crossed his arms over his chest. Both looked at Kaiden.
Kaiden put the phone down and clasped his hands leaning forward.
"His name is Neal. Neal Jayden Knight. 24 years old. Veterinarian. Only have mother, no siblings. Single. Lives with his friend Arjun Arthur Harris. They moved to LA four years ago." Kaiden told the details he had received.
"Neal." Hunter said quietly to himself.
"Do you think he talked about the chain to anyone?" Drake asked.
"Maybe his friend. I will talk to him." Hunter said.
"What are you gonna do with him? Keep him here?" Drake asked raising his brows.
"Why would we keep him?" Kaiden looked at his friends confused. Is there something he doesn't know?
Drake rolled his eyes and ignored Kaiden.
"Guest room 3. Left wing." Drake said to Hunter who already on his way to the exit.
"Oh! Hunter?" Hunter stopped at the door when Kaiden called out.
"Your eyes are beautiful." Kaiden said grinning like an idiot earning a slap from Drake upside the head.
Hunter showed his middle finger to Kaiden before exiting.

Neal stood in the middle of the huge bedroom looking around. It was a plain room. Everything is white, the small sofa, bed sheets, pillows, floor, walls. A painting of black rose in white canvas, which hanged in the wall opposite to the bed, and a dark wood night stand is the only contrast in the room.
He wanted to sit somewhere. Everything hurts, his head, legs, wrist. Everything. He moved towards the small sofa.
Before Neal can sit down, the door opened.
Neal's eyes widened as he saw the person who entered. Hunter closed the door and leaned against it, looking at Neal. He put his hands in his pocket. His eyes lingered on the bruised wrist of Neal before going back to his face.
Neal took in Hunter's appearance which now different from before. He can see the tattoos on his fore arms and chest. Neal blushed when he realized he was checking out Hunter.
"Neal."
Neal stunned. How did the man know his name?
"How did you get Drake's chain?"
Neal stood there like a statue without answering, just like when they spoke for the first time.
"Are you going to say my eyes are beautiful? Again?" Hunter smirked.
Huh? When did I say that? Neal wondered.
"Did you contact the police?"
Neal shook his head, no.
"I didn't. And I won't tell anyone. So...c-can you let me go?" He asked hopefully.
"No." Hunter said simply.
"What are you going to do? Kill me? Torture me? Burn me?" Neal's voice shook, his eyes welled up. He bite his lips to prevent from breaking down.
"That's what I am going to do." Hunter said and walked towards Neal.
Neal walked backwards till he hit the wall. Hunter didn't stop untill he stood inches apart from Neal. He put his hands either side of Neal, locking him inside.
Hunter leaned forward, his lips touched Neal's right ear. Neal shuddered at the contact.
"There is so many reasons for one to feel like burning, Neal."
Hunter's sexy voice and hot breath tickled Neal. He is breathing hard. Neal put his hands on Hunter's chest pushing him slightly when he felt like he can't breathe.
"You can't lock me here Hunter. Either you kill me, or let me go."
Did he really said that? Demanding to a mobster? Wow Neal! I'm proud of you. Neal thought to himself.
"I won't let you go. How about we make a deal?" Hunter asked still standing close to the doctor.
"I.....I d-don't want to." Neal stuttered. He doesn't want anything to do with Rendells.
"You have a friend right? What's his name? Arthur?"
Neal's eyes widened. "Please don't hurt my friend. I...I will do anything you say. Just...don't hurt him."
Neal clung to Hunter's chest desperately. Tears rolled down from his eyes. He won't let them hurt his loved ones.
"Anything?" Hunter asked with a glint in his eyes.
Neal nodded his head vigorously. "Anything." He confirmed.
Neal didn't even get to blink before Hunter's moist lips touched Neal's soft ones. Neal's eyes widened when he realized what is happening. He is being kissed by a man!
He didn't kiss back, too shocked to react. It was a sweet kiss without tongue. Hunter's lips lingered on Neal's a few seconds before he parted.
Hunter smirked at Neal's shocked red face.
"This is what you need to do from now on." Hunter said and pecked Neal's lips before exiting the room.
