"You seem surprised about the doll, Is it something about the doll itself or the fact she's in that room that's bothering you, Rushil?" Lydia asked.
"Both actually, 'she' was supposed to be in the basement, at least that's where I last left 'her'." Rushil replied.
"She? Her? Isn't it strange to talk about a doll like it's a person?" Minnie asked, "Also I didn't know you guys kept dolls here! Is it like a new hobby? I heard old people like collecting dolls." She added curiously.
"The hair on my head is still dark Minnie, I am not that old." Rushil said, "I'm surprised you never told me about the doll, given that she's made to look after 'Her'." Lydia said to Rushil.
"It's that 'her' thing again!" Minnie replied, "The doll looks unusually human, she does resemble Niko and pretty much you too Rushil...but Considering that both of you are men, then the doll is obviously not modeled after either of you, but after somebody else instead." Jin spoke-up, "A woman by the name of Rusham." He added while eyeing Rushil who was strangely eyeing him back with a somewhat entertained smile.
"Hmm, that name? Why do I feel like I heard it before?" Minnie questioned.
"Rushil, and Rusham are quite similar names...Maybe that's why the name sounds similar." Jin replied.
Chuckling, "Minnie had her reasons to be weary of you Jin, you are a sharp little brat." Rushil spoke-up smiling.
Confused by the somewhat insulting compliment, "Thanks I guess?" Jin replied, "And oh! Btw, Lydia you seem to know something about the doll's name." He added.
"Of course, Rushil is my friend for a reason." Lydia replied smiling.
"You know what? Your friendship with Lydia has always been something strange to me, Rushil.
Seeing how unique you two are compared to each other, I can only assume that the reason the two of you are good friends is because you're bonded by something really strong...You're obviously not in love, and you don't seem to be having a similar goal that would bind you together.
Since There isn't that much that could tie two complete strangers like yourselves, but one thing which is a similar experience, and since it's you two I can't imagine that experience was a joyous one.
It must've been an experience that generated a great deal of grief." Jin said.
"Although I usually don't say this, but A man like you is worth a whole group of Radka's girls...Jin." Lydia replied, she then turned to look at Rushil and said, "If you have any doubts left that this man is a suitable partner for you precious son, then as your friend I urge you to cast those doubts aside."
Chuckling again, "Only if what happened 7 years ago, didn't happen...I would've been busy preparing for you and Niko's wedding, I've always wanted a wedding in my family...i never got to attend one, how ironic for someone of Indian heritage." Rushil said making Jin blush at the idea of a wedding.
Surprised, "Is that for real? How come?!" Minnie asked, "It's simply because no one remained alive of my family, I've lost everyone, just like Lydia." Rushil replied.
"Everyone...?" Minnie was stunned, "I'm sorry if I Opened any wounds." Jin said slightly bowing his head.
"Nothing was closed to be reopened." Rushil simply replied, "And about the doll, it was remodelled after my Sister, Rusham.
My great aunt made that doll to comfort me shortly after I've lost everyone else, it was thanks to that doll that I was able to live again...even when my great aunt died few years later, the doll's presence made it easier to keep going.
Because and as strange as it sounds, that doll became the reason I've met Radka." Rushil explained with a soft smile.
"HUH?!" Minnie was stunned, again.
"Wow! No wonder it's so important!" Jin replied.
"I'm a little disappointed that you've never mentioned the doll to me...it's almost as if you don't trust anyone to even know about her, let alone touch her." Lydia said.
"I'm sorry about that, the doll was very valuable to me, but along the way she became valuable to someone else.
Since the story behind the doll's making was depressing, I decided to never speak of it again so it wouldn't ruin her value for him...But I'm happy at least, it seems like I don't have to put her back in the basement just yet.
Maybe I should ask him after he wakes-up, if he wants to keep her again." Rushil replied before he started mumbling between himself.
"I don't think I understood a single word of that." Minnie said, "Why am I the favorite again?" She added feeling defeated.
"Him? You mean Niko? Was the doll his at some point?" Jin asked.
"You're his boyfriend, surely you've noticed that he struggles to sleep when he's alone." Rushil replied, "I used to struggle too, especially after what happened to my family, that's why my great aunt saw the perfect solution was to make me a doll that resembles my sister because, I've always loved to sleep with Rusham hugging me.
I know it sounds weird but ever since I was a baby, unless a person hugged me, I couldn't sleep...
Nikolai inherited that from me." Rushil explained.
"So you gave him the doll." Jin said and Rushil nodded, "He was just a baby but he made every single girl who babysitted him, fail at making him sleep, the moment they lay him in his crib, he'd start crying.
One weekend, Radka and I decided to try ourselves to help him fall asleep, but by 3Am Radka had about enough...she was depressed and couldn't get a wink of sleep herself, she started crying too and swore she'll never give birth again." Rushil said while laughing at the memory.
"That's when you gave him The doll?" Lydia said, "I remembered how calm Rusham made me feel, so I brought her to baby Niko...it was hilarious how he glanced at the doll and then immediately snatched her from my hands and hugged her.
In few minutes he was peacefully asleep." Rushil replied chuckling again.
"I'm curious, didn't Nikolai have any other toys? Like plushies? You guys didn't get your first born anything to hug?
Why didn't you hug him yourselves like sleep on the same bed?" Minnie started bombarding Rushil with questions.
"First of all, Radka was terrified of letting Nikolai sleep in the same bed as us, she was scared we'd crush or suffocate him, at least she would because she rolls in her sleep like rotisserie chicken." Rushil replied making Jin laugh a bit.
"Haha! Niko definitely rolls like that too!" He said.
"I see you've also been a victim of midnight kicks out of the bed." Rushil replied, "Yep! Niko threw me off the bed on more than an occasion." Jin replied back.
"Okay, then what about other toys?" Minnie asked, "It was our first time being parents, and pretty much the last.
At the time we asked some veteran parents and they suggested we get Niko some stuffed animals since that's what most kids like.
That night when I gave him Rusham, My son turned out to be more than just my carbon copy, he even inherited my weird sleeping problem, stuffed animals weren't his thing.
And like Jin said, the doll looks unusually human, she became Niko's sleeping companion up Until 7 years ago." Rushil explained, "Unfortunately after what happened, Nikolai decided to leave town, but instead of taking the doll, he just gave her back to me...i'm not sure why he did that since he literally struggled to sleep without her, I had a feeling that John Crawford might've bullied him into abandoning the doll." He added.
Feeling jealous all of the sudden, "And then that snake Andrea became Niko's 'Rusham'." Jin said to himself angrily, but he didn't realize he said that out loud until a confused Rushil said, "Andrea what?!"
"Oh...OH! Nothing, I said nothing!" Jin replied, he face got all red from embarrassment.
"Poor Jin." Lydia said with a chuckle.
Suddenly, "Hold on a second Rushil, didn't you say the doll changed places? Like it was supposed to be in the basement?" Minnie said, "How's that possible?! Is this thing possessed or something?!" She asked.
"Of course not! I bet Radka put the doll there, but I can't ask her about it now..." Rushil replied looking down to his feet.
Jin noticed how quickly Rushil became sad after saying that so he decided to change the subject, "Hey Minnie, since what happened yesterday...has happened...what about your mom?" Jin asked.
Surprised, "Oh shoot! you know I completely forgot about her!" Minnie replied.
"Don't worry about your mother's hospital bill anymore, I had it payed in full." Rushil said.
"Really? thanks although...I was planning to use the bill as an excuse to see if my mom upgraded her Morals, though I'm not sure I wanna see her anymore." Minnie replied.
"I'm sorry if I took that opportunity from you, I just wanted to do something nice, and you don't have to pay me back or anything.
Consider it an apology gift...after all You must've heard about the rumors of how I'm actually jealous of you because of how close you are to Radka..." Rushil explained.
"Jealousy is a normal thing, although you and Radka are scary when jealous, like seriously." Minnie said.
"Speaking of love and relationships, I'm surprised you're not seeing anyone, you know I'm jealous of you because you're too damn pretty, right?" Rushil said chuckling.
"Thank you for the compliment." Minnie said smiling, "I just don't think I'm destined for love, I'm a lone wolf you know." She added sniggering at her own words.
"Earlier you were a vampire, and now you're a wolf?" Jin said jokingly, "Boi! did you see me run? I'm fast as fuck boi!" Minnie replied.
Unexpectedly, "You do have supernatural speed, maybe that's why no one has caught your heart." Lydia making Minnie squeal in Joy.
"GURRRRL!"
"That was something!" Rushil spoke-up, "Yeah! It was smooth of you Lydia." Jin said grinning, "Thank you, it took a lot of internal freaking out to say it out loud." She replied making them laugh.
...Few minutes later...
"Girls I won't be repeating myself, don't be slacking just because Lydia and I are going out shopping, okay!" Minnie said and the bodyguard girls standing outside the house all gave her a nod.
"Btw, I got like a Spidey sense for food, is Jin making anything right now?" One girl spoke-up, "Can we get inside the house to eat! I knew we're not supposed to be inside cuz it's madame and her beau's orders, but can we at least sit by the pool! It's scorching hot today!" She said with puppy eyes.
Sighing, "Girls, we've already talked about this, it's your job, you're supposed to handle everything! Including the heat.
The money you're getting paid, some other people are dreaming about it! If you wanna get some food you can order it, or only send one of you inside to ask Jin for something to eat.
And to be fair I shouldn't be working any time soon especially not today considering what I've been through yesterday, but here I am! If Lydia didn't need my help, I'd be happily doing my job right now.
So, under no circumstances will you ever leave your posts, is that understood! stay here, surround the house and do your job! You'll get to rest at some point, so have some patience." Minnie Said.
Impressed, Lydia glanced at a serious Minnie then at the girls who nodded and didn't protest again.
Meanwhile, Jin secretly watched what happened through a window before he went back to the kitchen to make Radka's cake, "Wow! No wonder she's the favorite!" He mumbled to himself.
You do have supernatural speed, maybe that's why no one has caught your heart.
