Chapter 31

Jamie cleaned up the kitchen while Bull went back to pick up in his bedroom. Misch followed at Bull’s heels.

That cat has no loyalty, Jamie thought. At ten minutes to eight, both Bull and Jamie were ready to go in to work. They got into Bull’s car and Jamie realized that he had to depend on Bull to take him where ever he wanted to go. That was unacceptable. Jamie said, “I think I made a mistake giving back the car. Why don’t I stay here and call Enterprise to bring the car back to me? It’s not fair to you that you have to drive me around.” Jamie looked at Bull hoping he would agree.

“I don’t think so. If you were in witness protection someone would be with you twenty-four/seven. No one is getting to you on my watch, so that means you stay with me unless we’re at work.” Bull’s eyes got darker when he wasn’t pleased. Jamie didn’t want to ruin the tentative truce they had so he acquiesced. They made it to work by eight-thirty.
