Chapter 24

“I think you’d have to ask him.” Brian looked at Bull intently.

“Will he speak to me?” Bull asked Brian, knowing that the answer would be no.

“I think he probably would. He’s good that way. If you approach him honestly, he might talk to you.” Bull couldn’t hide his surprise. No one could be that forgiving.

Jamie sat in Greg’s office using his tissue box. “I just don’t know what I did to make him hate me so much. I only tried to flirt with him and when he made it obvious he didn’t want me, I dialed it back to just business. But he couldn’t let it go. He wouldn’t leave me alone. All he did was pick at me. Then he kissed me and after that he was worse than ever. I’d rather have my father beat me to death than listen to him talk to me like that.” Jamie blew his nose.

“I can’t tell you what he told me in therapy, but I think that if he asks you to talk, you should listen.”
