Building The Technology

In this story, we will journey with Virtya Markov as he struggled to bring about the period of rapid industrialization and tech advancement that transformed society and paved way for modern civilization. Although Virtya Markov didn't have a cheater like system to help him to achieve his goals very quickly, he was not devastated because he was not only a genius but he was also a "librarian" in his past life. He knew his bad reputation and the lack of charisma will become a stumbling block in his path, thus, he thought of a plan, yes, a plan to not only unify the kingdom but also to bring it to newer heights in terms of development. But how will he manage to fabricate "heavenly" stuffs from his previous life when he didn't have the system or an extensive knowledge about engineering? Thus, Virtya Mariov came up with a plan... "I will build Shanghai, Tokyo, New York and Dubai. All these cities will stand in our kingdom!" Virtya uttered determinedly before he stared at the disoriented crowd which was giving him weird looks as if he was a clown. /"What is Tokyo city? Is it a new delicacy? When did our king start to cook for himself? Ok, What about New York? Is it a carriage?" The crowd was ablaze as Azuhai denizens discussed among themselves.../

Pollow

Apparently, it should be noted that Virtya didn't choose Pollow district for the cement plant just because he wanted the plant to be there, No. Pollow district was divided into two by a rift valley. The Eastern side that faced Whiten district was the place which was inhabited by Pollow denizens but the Western side of the valley had a sparse population because the land was not favourable for habitation not to mention that the natives of this Western side were not regarded as the denizens of Whiddiff city, instead, they were regarded as the denizens of Rotdunn Province which neighboured Pollow district.

On the floor of this rift valley, there was a naturally formed river where the denizens of Pollow and sometimes Rotdunn Province got their water. This river was permanent and it had enabled agriculture to dominate the western part of Pollow.

It could be seen that Virtya chosed Pollow district for the cement plant because it had the lowest population as compared to other districts thus, if the displacement was needed, Virtya would not incur much cost and opposition. However, the low population was not the main reason as to why Virtya chosed Pollow district, it was because of the abundance of limestone in the Western part of Pollow. The limestone rocks stretched further towards Rotdunn Province and Whilona province where the rift valley branched into two. From Whilona province, the rift valley continued towards Miskesh, Dinky town and then into Magyo kingdom. Salto river which flowed on the floor of this rift valley followed its path towards Magyo kingdom but on its way, it left behind three salt lakes, that was; Lake Norock in the border of Miskesh and Dinky town, Lake Redend in Rotdunn Province and lake Forche in Whilona province.

As one should know, limestone was a necessary raw material in the manufacture of cement, the other raw materials were sand, gypsum and clay while coal was used to heat the raw materials to make clinker.

Anyway, on this project, Virtya was planning to use close to 15, 000 workers whereby 10, 000 workers would be cheap labor from the slaves while the remaining 5, 000 workers would be the employed locals and experts that Virtya had prepared thoroughly from his classrooms from the nearby districts and the neighbouring provinces.

Virtya was planning to use the houses of the denizens in the Eastern part of Pollow for sheltering his workers. As one should know, the Western part of Pollow where the cement plant was to be situated didn't have many houses that could shelter all these workers thus, Virtya chosed the Eastern for shelter. However, since Virtya placed a notice for the people who stayed in the Eastern side of the rift valley to vacate, only 10% of the natives decided to do so but the others stayed and refused to move out even after Virtya had compensated them with the amount of money that they wanted.

Meanwhile, the slave guide that was driving this old wagon stopped the wagon for registration of the slaves and jumped down.

He was wearing an animal hide because it was waterproof and provided warmth in this rain but this made him so smelly and because he had not showered for months, it just added to his smelly nature.

He grinned showing his rotten teeth that had gone without a brushing for years and then he took a glance at the slaves and saw a woman who was holding onto a railing used for the hull of the wagon. The woman was staring back at the man with a look of hate and derision but the man didn't do a thing as he merely licked his lips and climbed into the wagon before he unlocked the sealing like door. He gripped the wooden handle and forced the door open with a loud bang and simultaneously, the opened door unlocked the side of the wagon thus allowing the weak slaves to pour out.

"Come out you fools, you have now reached where you are supposed to be!" The man hollered with a light laughter.
