36 Chapter 36

Greg was sitting down talking to the mercenary company leaders, trying to determine their payment. Even though Greg said he would pay them 3x the amount of coins, he still needed to set an amount and determined how much each company will get paid.

The Golden company will get paid the most since they had the more men, while the other companies will get paid less. While the other companies get paid less, they still get paid more than if they joined any other Kingdom.

The mercenaries had camped outside Qohor while waiting until the day they leave, which was in a week, since some final preparations needed to be made.

After the week was over, the army begin on their march to take Norvos, Braavos and Pentos. Since the army of the Prince of Pentos had less than 30k soldiers, Greg had sent the Golden company to take Norvos while his army will march to take Pentos and Braavos.

After taking the three free cities, Greg will establish his empire and base it off of the Valyrian Freehold, with a few changes here and there. The main thing that he will change is that he will be that supreme power throughout the land and there will be no dragon lords and such who hold all the power.

There will also be no slavery, in fact, Greg will make that the number one problem that he will solve. For places like slavers bay where a lot of people are slaves, Greg will make up some type of process for a slave to free since if the slaves are freed just like that than Greg will have hundreds of thousands of people who are mostly uneducated and all they know is being a slave.

He will make up a process to free them, which will probably last for a while until the slaves are fully freed, which will take a couple of years.

Greg also wanted to investigate Valyria, but he knows that the smoking sea would pose a problem, and he didn't want to waste soldiers on something that he knows will fail, but after he conquers a good chunk of Essos he will find a way to reach Valyria.

Before setting off with the army, Greg was in the war room moving pieces around on a board. These pieces were the armies that Greg had under him and the other armies in Essos.

After some minutes of moving the pieces around on the board, Greg had finished as he made sure that his plans would work. He had worked in all the parameters of what could happen, and he was sure that he could take the three free cities.

Worst case is that Myr, Lys and Tyrosh band together to attack him or Volantis takes this chance as heir to the Valyrian Freehold to reclaim its old lands. Whatever happens, Greg will be able to counter it, though it will cost him a city since Qohor or Norvos would probably be recaptured if an attack did happen.

After leaving the room, Greg had gone to his room to grab his sword and armor and prepare to march.

Once he entered his room, Greg had a sudden headache as he collapsed on the floor, making a loud sound that alerted the guards.

The Guards had rushed to the room and as they went in they found Greg collapsed on the floor. One of the soldiers had yelled"His Majesty has collapsed, alert General Aleanna". They then immediately went to check on him, but suddenly his body had engulfed into flames, burning his clothes that he was wearing.

The fire was so bright that it blinded the guards for a second before their vision returned. From the corner of the room, the Dragon eggs had begun to move as they rolled into the fire along with Greg.

Then, minutes after rolling into the fire, it suddenly disappears as the soldiers waited for the smoke to clear.

Once the smoke had cleared, on the floor in front of them was Greg along with two dragons that were with him on the ground.

The Soldiers tried to get close, but the little dragons were acting protective of Greg, scaring off the soldier until Aleanna came.

The little dragons still hissed at Aleanna, but she just ignored them and made sure Greg was okay.

After making sure Greg was okay, she put him on the bed as he started to open his eyes

He looked around a little before asking "What happened"
