Chapter 5 "I once hold a star" KSJ FF

Back to the present...

Me: What was all this? What's with the breakfast in bed?

Jin: You mentioned that you'll be returning to the Philippines tomorrow, so I wanted to spend as much time with you today. I thought of surprising you with a special breakfast in bed.

Me: But why would you go through all this trouble?

Jin: Because I love you, and I cherish every moment we have together. Plus, it gives me a chance to spoil you a little before you leave.

Me: You're such a sweetheart.

Jin: Only for you, my love.

As we sat at the table, enjoying the delicious meal Jin had prepared, I couldn't help but feel a mix of emotions. The impending separation weighed heavily on my heart, but I also felt immensely grateful for the time we had spent together. Jin had been my rock, my anchor in this whirlwind romance we had embarked upon.

Me: Jin, I'll miss you so much.

Jin: Bogoshipda~ Bogoshipda~ *Spring day

Me: Please don't make me cry.

Jin: It's just three days, my love. We'll be reunited soon.

Me: I know, but it still hurts to be apart from you.

Jin: I feel the same way, but let's focus on the beautiful memories we've created together.

His words brought comfort to my soul, reminding me of the magical moments we had shared. It had only been 61 days, but our connection felt so much deeper as if we had known each other for a lifetime.

As we finished our meal, Jin cleared the table, and I embraced him from behind, savoring his warmth and the familiar scent that always made me feel at home.

Me: I don't want to let go.

Jin: I don't want to either, but remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Me: I love you, Jin.

Jin: I love you too, my Maye.

We stood there, holding each other, silently cherishing the fleeting moments we had left together. Eventually, we knew we had to say goodbye.

The next day, I boarded the plane bound for the Philippines, excited to reunite with my family but also burdened by the news I had received during my check-up.

The doctor's words echoed in my mind, haunting me with their cruel reality. Three weeks. That's all the time I had left. My lungs were slowly deteriorating, and a hole had formed in my heart. The gravity of the situation hit me like a ton of bricks. How could this be happening? Why now, when I had finally found happiness and a love worth fighting for?

Tears welled up in my eyes as I pondered the cruel twist of fate. I had a book signing event scheduled in a week, and my debut novel, "The Goodbye," was set to be published tomorrow. The irony wasn't lost on me. The title of my book seemed to mock the fragility of life and the unpredictability of our destinies.

Back in South Korea, as I stepped off the plane, I was greeted by a chorus of voices, exclaiming, "Welcome back!!!" The familiar sound brought a mix of emotions. On one hand, I was overjoyed to see the members of BTS, my extended family, standing before me. On the other hand, a bittersweet ache filled my heart, knowing that my time with them was limited.

Namjoon, Seokjin, Yoongi, Hoseok, Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook surrounded me, their eyes shining with genuine love and concern. They presented me with tulips, symbolizing their affection

and support.

Jin, always the romantic, knelt before me, holding a small box in his hands.

Jin: I know this might seem awkward and simple, but I want to express how deeply I love you. We both know that time is precious. These past 61 days have been nothing short of a miracle. So, Maye, my love, will you marry me?

My heart swelled with a mixture of joy and sorrow. How could I say yes when I knew my time was running out? But I couldn't bear to disappoint those starry eyes, filled with hope and a love so pure. At that moment, I made a selfish choice, driven by my overwhelming love for Jin.

Me: Yes! *He slipped the ring onto my finger, and we sealed our promise with a kiss.

The members of BTS erupted into applause, celebrating our decision. However, as I turned to face them, I couldn't help but notice their quick departure. Jimin called out to Jin, reminding him of something urgent. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, Jin scooped me up in his arms and carried me into his house.

Inside, I found myself in a room adorned with simple yet elegant decorations, resembling a miniature wedding hall. It was as if my dream wedding had materialized before my eyes. I glanced down at my attire and realized I was wearing a white dress. Jin had planned everything meticulously, knowing that it would be the perfect outfit for our impromptu ceremony before I returned to Seoul.

Jimin handed me a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and I walked down the makeshift aisle. The only witnesses to our union were the two of us and the ethereal presence of the other BTS members, standing in threes on each side.

As I reached Jin at the end of the aisle, we exchanged heartfelt vows, professing our love and commitment to one another. Our lips met in a tender, passionate kiss, sealing our fate as husband and wife. RM, the leader of BTS, handed us a document, which we signed, making our marriage official.

Once the formalities were complete, the other members bid us farewell, leaving us alone in the room.

Me: We're married?

Jin: We're married.

We shared another sweet kiss, the weight of our situation mingling with the depth of our love. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, and we clung to each other, savoring the present while uncertain of the future.
