[3rd person POV]
"I still don't like the fact that left him behind" said Wonder Woman to Batman. The heroes were currently heading towards the portal room which was only a couple rooms away now.
Cyborg also agreed with her statement "Me too, we don't know if he'll be safe alone, especially against that monster."
Batman then spoke up " For the record, even I'm not entirely comfortable with that decision, but we had to prioritise the greater good. It was the most optimal decision we could have made.It was his choice, he knew the risks and still suggested it."
The two heroes kept quiet on hearing this statement, knowing that it was indeed Mr. Nostradamus who had made the choice. They could only hope it would pan out well for their new ally.
Wonder Woman can't help but think 'I hope he remains well. I have lost one too many comrades recently.'
She was still dealing with the death of her old friend and someone special to her. Steve Trevor, a soldier during World War 2 who had crash landed on her Island during a mission.
He had recently died only a week ago and his death was why she was in Washington DC and not London or Themyscira where she lived.
She prays for his success 'May victory be with you, warrior.'
Then as they are about to turn a corner, right before the portal room they run into a few familiar faces.

[Arnold POV]
"Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine"
My outfit suddenly changed into a sky blue yukata with navy blue accents. And tattoos appeared all over my arms and although I couldn't see it, probably my face as well. The surroundings had also changed, with the floor turning into a clear pond of water, reflecting everything above it. Yet somehow, neither person in the room sank into its depths. Right behind me stood a shrine, about 10 ft tall, and it was a disfeatured Buddhist shrine somewhat of a mix between a chinjudō and a satanic ritual.
I felt… amazing. I was confident, joyous, on top of the world. I didn't know if it was a hallucination caused by the loss of blood or if it was actually true, but I felt as if I was the ruler of everything around me. Whether it be the 7ft tall man in front of me or a microbe floating in the air, it all seemed so insignificant, so weak. I felt like anything around me that dared to oppose my will could simply be squashed like a bug. I was in a trance and I was loving every second of it.
However, Steppenwolf soon broke me out of this trance "Do you really think changing your clothing and this party trick of an illusion is enough to defeat me. I am a GOD and you will die by my blade!"
At this statement of his only a single thought ran through my mind.
"Ah this fucker is really annoying. Blah Blah Blah… How do his mouth's muscles not snap with all that talk?" I thought.
"You… YOU DARE! I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THIS! YOU SHALL DIE SCREAMING AND BEGGING. I AM A GOD AND YOU WILL GIVE ME THE RESPECT I COMMAND!" he screamed as he charged at me, disrupting the serenity of the pond.
'Wait a minute, did I say that out loud? AH FUCK IT, doesn't matter anyways.' I thought as I looked at his figure approaching me.
"God you say? Fine then, let me show you what godhood truly looks like." I told him.

"God you say? Fine then, let me show you what godhood truly looks like." As Arnold says this, the charging Steppenwolf comes to a halt.
This is not by choice, but rather the consequence of him experiencing a great shock. His left arm, which was previously on his person, was now in front of him. In a split second, his arm splits into 2 pieces, then 4,and after that 8 pieces. It continues in this fashion, until finally in a span of just 5 seconds, his hand is reduced into nothing but paste.
He then looks over to his shoulder where his arm was supposed to be, only to find it missing. He then looked in front of him, at the man he had previously dealt with and with great ease at that, just standing there, with a maniacal smile on his face.
On seeing this, he began doubting what was happening 'What is this!? That mortal was as pathetic as a bug a moment ago. So how, how is it that my hand has been cut off while he has that expression on his face. DAMNIT. MAY IT ALL BE DAMNED!'
"TO HELL WITH YOU, YOU MORTAL!" he screamed as he threw his battle axe at his opponent.
It achieved nothing, however, as the axe was immediately crushed into miniscule bits while still in mid-air.
Looking on as his trusted weapon, which had accompanied him on many a conquest and lay siege to many a planet, as well as slaying the bravest of warriors thus far be smashed into bits before his eyes, and that too so easily, caused a feeling to take place in his heart. A feeling that he only experienced on the scarce occasion he disappointed his master.
FEAR. An insurmountable fear gripped him as his instincts and body instructed him to run. And he tried to, only to fall over.
He looked at his legs, only to find them missing.
He then looked at the figure of the man responsible for his current predicament. He was bloody, with his previously blond hair being dyed red ,and his hands red with his own blood. But despite this his grin was as wide as ever. An imagery that frightened Steppenwolf even more.
In an instant the man appeared in front of him, using his feet to stomp his head onto the ground.
He then began to taunt in an eerie voice "What happened? Aren't you a god? So come on, break free. Kill me like you claimed."
Steepenwolf only responded in a weak and broken voice "Go to… hell… You… You… demon."
"After you buddy." Arnold responded, before Steppenwolf's head exploded, spraying blood everywhere.
