Preface

I choose Sinhala as a subject for the GCE Advanced Level examination because of my passion for Sinhala Literature. Ever Since then, I have had a strong desire to write a novel.

I turned to read literature under the guidance of my loving mother. To further develop that desire, I would like to mention my pre-school teachers, school teachers as well as Nadeeka teacher who enriched me with knowledge for the GCE Advance Level Examination. Mr. Wickramasinghe, Mr. Upul De Silva, and Ven Colombageare Yassai thero.

During my university education, I did not have the opportunity to write a book also due to various obstacles in my life. I thought the quarantine period for the corona pandemic is the right time to make my dream come true and I decided to put it into action.

I must mention Navodi and Poashya, my two loving sisters who helped me lot implement this. My heartfelt thanks go to both of them who read it chapter by chapter and pointed out the shortcomings. I am truly grateful to my beloved mother, father, and grandmother who encouraged me immensely.

Many thanks to my dear friends Keshani, Anumika, Indunil, Madusha, Panchali and Hansi for encouraging me on this journey as well as my friend Dulip who set up the software for my computer.

Last but not least I have to remind myself of the kind family I always had around me.

If so, this is the English version of my first novel.
