Bright Academy

School for gifted students is an understatement. Bright Academy was a school on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean. Felix Oppong was one of the over thirty students in the forty square kilometer sized college, for good reason...

I'M A MONSTER HUNTER

I made a blob of water levitate between my hands and Junior said,"Okay, now, I want you to make the water molecules slow down and start to form hexagonal crystals."

I took a deep breath and started squeezing my hands together which was squeezing the water. A thin layer of frost started to form on it then it started getting thicker and whiter and bubble filled.

Then cracks and cracking sounds started manifesting and in eight seconds, I had frozen a pint of water.

"Hm, it's a lot slower than I remember."He said.

"Duh, it's my first time."I said.

Just then I lost my concentration and it dropped on my foot.

I yelled in pain and hopped on one foot while I massaged the other.

Junior couldn't stop laughing and I couldn't stand it so I blasted water at him but he somehow made it disperse and spin around him like electrons around the nucleus of an atom.

Then he shot the three thin jets at me.

I yelled and swiped my hand then heard a cracking sound, right before my water vision showed the jets stay still and fall.

I looked at the shards of ice on the floor and back at him and he shouted,"Yes! I knew it would work!"

I smiled.

Next Jason showed me the phase diagram of water which had a lot of extra information, including the lattice shapes of them.

I looked at him, confused then he said,"I want you to memorize all these properties of the different types of ice, their lattice shapes and the temperature and pressure ranges.

I looked at it then back at him and asked,"All of them?"

"Yes."He said.

"In a week?!"I asked again.

He nodded.

I groaned then began.

A few hours later, I was practicing making ice I c. This ice was the only other type of ice found naturally in the earth.

It was found in the upper atmosphere and formed in a temperature range of -100 - -200°C at standard 1 ATM of pressure.

It formed a cubular lattice, hence the ' c ' in the name.

It was considerably harder than ice I h, which was the commonest on earth. The hydrogen disorder ice where the oxygen atoms formed a hexagonal lattice.

I focused on the cubular shape and compressed to make the water regelate then freeze.

A thin layer of frost appeared, then it went deeper.

It was working, and the best part was, I just needed to make a single cubular crystal and all the other water molecules followed suit. It was much easier than I thought, but was still quite difficult.

It totally solidified then I held it up. I then changed the shape of the red blood cell shaped ice block into a diamond, then dropped it in my left hand.

I yelled and threw it away, I forgot that it was hovering around -130°C.

I continued learning their properties and shapes and practicing them and soon, I had eight of them under control.

I went for the mission. He lived in Tokyo, Japan.

I followed him from a distance, using my water vision to hear every heartbeat he made and see every movement he made even from behind a building, half a block away.

He went to a train station and entered a speed train.

I wanted to enter but it closed before I could get in.

I couldn't use Hydroportation as the passengers couldn't see a gallon of water appear then change into a teenager, I mean, what will you do if you saw that?

I got an idea.

I condensed a small amount of water on my fingertips and the soles of my feet and touched the train, then the water froze into ice VII at room temperature.

The train started moving and the wind was whipping my long hair back, I actually felt cool till it picked up speed.

It started going above 60km/h and the inertia pulled me back and was hurting my arms.

My arms felt like they were going to break off till I melted the ice and fell off, into a valley.

I focused on the freeing part and not enough on the falling part.

I was plumetting into my death when I just thought about an eagle, just then water started appearing around me and formed an eagle.

I looked around and without a second thought, flapped the wings, but the water wings burst because of the air pressure.

The eagle was also tiring to keep in shape so I made the eagle again and made a thick layer of ice around it, but didn't totally freeze it, so it wouldn't freeze myself and so the water could lubricate it from the inside.

I flapped the wings but it only slowed down my fall, I was still falling.

The ground was getting closer by the second and the train- farther.

Then the large water eagle swooped off the ground and I realized I as flying.

I was using water vapour to make a pressure gradient which powered the eagle's flight just like birds used air pressure gradient.

I was flying and keeping up with the train then got to a forest.

I was easily able to maneuver or slice through the tall trees. Then I realized, ' This form of flying is far more aerodynamic than jet propulsion...wait, I could have used jet propulsion to fly this whole time?! Stupid! '

I then folded my wings in and twirled to the train then hydroteleported into the space between the cars.

I walked to the car the man was in and saw people speaking a language I didn't understand and looking out the window at the giant bird made of ice that was on the ground shrinking due to perspective.

I snapped my fingers and the ice melted, making the water to pour out.

The man got off at the next train station and walked to a private car.

I followed suit in a taxi and he got off at the company which I had to spy on.

The man went in and I hydroteleported in and continued following him.

He got his eye scanned and walked into a room whose door was disguised as a wall.

I could sense dozens of people in the room in water filled glass containers.

I hydroteleported in and listened to them.

They were speaking Japanese so I didn't understand, until the boss showed the man a picture of a girl my age with bright sea blue eyes.

He nodded and left.

I knew I had the needed proof and could go back to base but I couldn't just allow him to catch another victim... what about her family?

I followed him...
