chapter fourteen - Drunk Son Defies Father

Inigo stumbled home, thoroughly intoxicated, only to encounter his father.

"Good evening, old man," he greeted with a laugh.

His father, Simeon, responded sharply, questioning inigo's consistent rebellious behavior.

"Why do you always want to be the black sheep in this family? You're just a useless son. I regret having you as a son," Simeon said angrily.

Inigo, unfazed, retorted, "do you think I love having you as my father? You make me sick," he scoffed, adding, "it's actually a mistake coming into this world, and as if that wasn't enough, I landed in your house as your son." Inigo continued with disdain, "you're a worthless father."

His words didn't go unanswered, as Simeon, angered, delivered a heavy slap. Inigo seemingly unaffected, defiantly declared,

"Even if you kill me, you would never be acknowledged as my father," before ascending the stairs.

Lisa arrived home in the evening, having visited recca's place before returning. Her anger towards Rachael for the earlier slap fueled her growing resentment towards Diego. Confronting the reality of her sister's actions, Lisa, overwhelmed, fell onto a chair, tears streaming down her face.

Meanwhile, Rachael, unable to focus at work due to guilt, was visibly distressed. Diego observing her turmoil, entered her office and urged her to go home and reconcile with Lisa. Despite Rachael's resistance, Diego insisted, emphasizing that her emotional state would hinder her productivity.

As he left, Rachael acknowledged Diego's concern and apologized for Lisa's words.

Diego, clearly hurt by Lisa's accusations, responded, "although Lisa said it, that's what you think in your heart. It's just that you weren't bold enough to say it out." As he walked away, leaving Rachael to contemplate, she couldn't help but think,

"Must you complicate things wherever you go, Lisa?" – a sentiment accompanied by an impending headache.

Rachael arrived home to find no sign of Lisa and realized she hadn't eaten due to the absence of cooked food. Concerned, she went straight to Lisa's room, knocking on the door.

"Lisa, I'm home. Can you open the door? We need to talk," Rachael said, but Lisa remained silent and didn't open the door.

"I know you can hear me, Lis. Please open the door. I understand how angry you are with me. I promised not to hit you, and I failed because of some guy who broke my heart, leaving me embarrassed. I had decided to let it go, and you brought it back. I'm sorry. I'll never do that again," Rachael pleaded, but there was still no response from Lisa.

"It's okay if you don't want to speak to me. I understand. I'll be in my room if you need me," Rachael said as she went to her room, leaving Lisa crying on her bed.
