Chapter four - school morning wake up

Lisa's P.O.V

Wrapped in the cocoon of morning calm, I savored the embrace of peaceful slumber until Rachael's voice shattered the tranquility.

"Wake up, Lis," she called, disrupting the delicate dance of dreams. I resisted, pleading for a few more moments of bliss.

"Rachael, let me sleep a little bit, please?" I pleaded not opening my eyes.

Unyielding, Rachael persisted, gently shaking me. "Get up from the bed, sleepy head," she insisted.

I mumbled my plea for more beauty sleep, refusing to unveil my eyes to the waking world. Reality crashed in when Rachael revealed the harsh truth.

"It's 8:00, and you have school today." With reluctant acknowledgement, I bargained for a few more precious minutes of repose.

Rachael left- or so I thought- until I felt the sensation of the floor against my cheek startled me awake.

"Rachael!" I protested, while she stood there smiling at me.

"Recca called. She'll soon be here. She's on her way." She said making me groan. "Be fast and come down for breakfast. I have work to go to. She said, leaving, while I dragged my feet to the bathroom to do my morning routine.

A few minutes later, I finished getting dressed in a snug high waist black trouser, a green crop top, and white canvas shoes. I casually applied mascara and lip gloss at my dressing table, brushing my thick, wavy brown hair, which had miraculously straightened overnight. Grabbing my backpack, I headed downstairs. Rachael was setting the table, announcing, "breakfast is ready," as I took a seat. She had prepared toast with scrambled eggs and my favorite muffin tea. I giggled and thanked her, giving her a peck on the cheeks.

Just then, recca burst in with a dramatic entrance.

"Hello, ladies! I'm home," she announced making us burst into laughter.

Curious about breakfast, she asked, "what's in for breakfast?"

Rachael simply replied, "you can see for yourself," as recca joined us and grabbed a toast.

Recca then brought up the impending rush of lectures and the eagerness to push us through graduation. I groaned, asking why they were in such a hurry.

"It's like they want to kick us away," recca explained.

Rachael having finished eating, declared, "you guys are pains in the ass. See you later. I'm off to work."

Recca, surprised, asked about Rachael's job.

"Yes, and it's a good one. I'll fill you in when we get to school," I assured her.

Eager for the details, recca replied, "I'm all ears." With that, Rachael pecked me on the cheeks before leaving.
