Kaeva shook his head. He’d started to sweat more than he had while running to Aman’s. Fever heat danced across his skin and made him want to strip off his clothes and plunge into the cold, unforgiving ocean.

This was stupid. Eddie was jerking off. So what? Kaeva did it. Yeah, he’d now seen Eddie doing it, caught the kid literally with pants down, but he should make his apologies and leave Eddie to it. The shame gurgling in his guts was exactly like that first night when Eddie had asked him about sex. He was a grown man terrified of sex. He hated the shame, hated himself for feeling it, and hated that despite it all, he remained stock still and staring.
