6. Hyuga Affair and The Aftermath
AN: I was wondering how do you guys even found this fanfic!! I seriously can't find it without typing in the name!!

<The door slides opens>
Shizue opened the slid open door and saw little Hinata in a kimono sitting dainty on a tatami mat.Wearing a purple and white kimono. And a woman who seems to be in her thirties with fair skin and long, dark-purple hair slightly past her waist and side bangs framing her face down to her shoulders wearing a purple, long-sleeved kimono, sipping a cup of tea leisurely.
'Oh Hinata's mother is here too. And Hinata is so adorable!! I wanna cuddle her and squish her cheeks!!! O-ok, calm down. Control yourself Shizue, you don't wanna freak her out.And her mother is here too.'
Shizue walked in, bowed respectfully and greeted, "Hello Lady Haruhi, and congratulations for your third birthday Lady Hinata. You both look absolutely stunning today."
"Ara~Why thank you. A very polite one aren't you? Your are Shizue-chan right?
Why has my husband sent you here." Haruhi asked smiling.
"Yes, Hiashi-sama sent me here so that I can give my present to Hinata-sama directly." Shizue replied back politely.
Haruhi said "Ara~go on, you children talk freely. Don't mind me." and went back to sipping tea.
"Then, excuse me Haruhi-sama." Shizue said and sat in front of Hinata.
Hinata too nodded and said "Y-yes mother"
Shizue took out the box and open it in front of the mother and daughter duo.
Haruhi's eyes sparkled and said "Oh my~that is a very exquisite necklace you got there and that white Lily pendant will suit Hinata very nicely. Ara~I am terribly sorry, I ended up very intrigued by the necklace. Now, for real, don't mind me." and apologized with a embarrassed tone.
"It's okay Haruhi-sama, and thank you for your praise." Shizue said and turned toward Hinata and asked "Pretty, isn't it?"
"Y-yes" Hinata replied, stuttering.
"Not only it's pretty, it also alert your father when you are in danger so that he can come save you real quick. Isn't that awesome!??"
"Oh~" Haruhi exclaimed, intrigued.
And Hinata replied unsurely "Y-yes?"
Shizue didn't mind and continued "The best part is: its cinnamon scented!!"
"R-really!??" Asked Hinata, very intrigued.
Shizue extended her hands holding the pendant "Yeah, come take a sniff. Here."
<Sniff-sniff>
"Wow..it really smells like cinnamons!" Exclaimed Hinata.
"Even better part is: the sent will never go away, so it'll always smell like cinnamons!!!" And Shizue continued on with passion.
"Wow...really" Asked Hinata in wonder.
'She must really like cinnamon rolls, she even forgot to stutter. Haha' Shizue thought for a second and replied "Yea...pretty cool right?"
"Y-yes" Hinata replied, back in her shy self.
'Oh! it came back,' Shizue remarked in her mind.
Shizue unhooked the necklace and said "Hiashi-sama asked to immediately
put this on. May I have the honor?"
"Ara~" Haruhi uttered, with sparkling eyes.
Hinata looked at her mother and when she saw her nod, "Y-yes" said with a red face.
'Is this the only thing these women think about? We're three damnit.' Shizue grumbled inwardly and carefully put the necklace around Hinata's neck.
Shizue and Haruhi admired the adorable little thing in front of them, looked at each other and when their gazes met, nodded to each other, looked back at Hinata and simultaneously said- ""Noice!"".
"Ahem, you look even more beautiful now Hinata-sama." Shizue coughed and praised Hinata.
"T-thank you"Hinata face turned even redder and replied with a barely audible voice.
Shizue then stood up and said "Then, if you will excuse me. I have to accompany my parents. You both are more than welcome to visit my house if you have free time."
"Yes~, we will take you up on that offer." Haruhi replied with a smile.
Shizue bowed said "Then, I'll see you both at the party, Haruhi-sama, Hinata-sama." then left.
.....
{At the party}
"Oh, you are back. How did it go?" Shizuka asked with a teasing tone.
"Heh!. Put it around her neck myself." Shizue answered with a prideful tone and her head held hight.
"Atta girl. Come have some deserts." Shizuka said with a proud tone and patted the empty chair next to her.
"Where's dad?" Shizue asked after she sat on the chair and grabbed a cinnamon roll.
"He's talking with his old comrades." Shizuka answered.
Shizuka looked around for her father but when she saw a certain group of people, she asked her mother while signaling the group's direction with her eyes "Hey mom, aren't those Kumo ninjas. I thought we don't get along with them?."
"Yeah, I heard they're here for peace treaty and requested Hokage to let them attend the party." Shizuka answered.
"Why attend the party tho? Don't they hate our clan to the bones cause our sensors foiled their plans many times. I overheard father and grandpa talking about it one time." Shizue tilted her head and asked .
"Don't know, don't care. ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌ ." Shizuka shrugged and kept on eating her cake.
"Heh, fair point!." Shizue too shrugged and went back on eating.
A few minutes later, Hiruno also returned and the three continued to eat and talk.
A while later, a <ding> sound permeated through the party. Shizue and her parents snapped their head towards the direction where the sound came from and saw Hiashi taking out a silver bell in a hurry with a horrified face just to hear another <ding> <ding> .Hiashi's expression worsened and shouted "Guards!! Secure the parimeter and don't let anything out of the Compound!!!" and ran towards the mansion with his Byakugan active.
A few tens of minutes later, the guests are told the party is canceled due to an emergency and sent home.
Shizue and her parents too went back home worried about Hinata's wellbeing.

{Two weeks later}
Shizue is taking a relaxing bath after training with her mother. And now she's deep in thoughts while staring at the bathroom ceiling.
'Apparently, Hiashi still killed the Kumo nin and the events played out exactly as the canon. Hinata is fine, I know cause the barrier was not activated. The Kumo nin probably used a sleeping gas or something. Yea... I gotta upgrade the pendant as soon as possible.
The entire clan is in a gloomy mood and hated Kumo from the bones now. But they are even more pissed at the Hokage and the elder council.
Poor Hinata, she must be feeling really sad. I should visit her when the situation calms down a little.'
Meanwhile, in front of the living room, Shizuka is speaking with two unexpected guests.
"Welcome to our humble home Haruhi-sama, Hinata-sama." Shizuka greeted.
"I hope we're not intruding." Haruhi said and stepped in.
"Of course not, you are absolutely welcome here." Shizuka said while leading them to the seats.
"Hinata has been really down lately and I thought she could use a friend. And then Shizue-chan came into my mind, so I brought her here." Haruhi said while patting Hinata's head.
"Ah! Is that so. Please wait a moment. I'll go get her." Shizuka said and went out.
When she arrived in front of the bathroom, she knocked and said "Hurry up Shizue, lady Hinata came to visit."
"W-what!! I-I'm coming out now." replied a panicked voice inside.
A few minutes later, Shizue came into the living room and greeted "Hello Haruhi-sama, Hinata-sama."
"Hello to you too Shizue-chan. Little Hinata here is feeling down so can you try to lift up her spirit." Haruhi smiled and said.
"Of course Haruhi-sama." said Shizue.And then looked at Hinata and said "Come with me Hinata-sama."
"Y-you don't have to talk to me formally." Hinata said timidly taking Shizue's hand.
"Really, that's nice. Then come! I'll show you something really cool." Shizue said and dragged Hinata along.
"Fufu~ you two younglings can go play or spend time together. Don't mind us." Haruhi waved her hand with a soft giggle.
"Fufu~aren't they just precious?" Haruhi stated giggling softy.
"Indeed they are" Shizuka nodded.
And then the two gazes met. They looked into each other's eyes for a second . Then they closed their eyes slowly with a smile, nodding their head subtly and said simultaneously ""Ah I see. You are a woman of culture as well.""
