The dream I

Mei jingjing stared at him with her eyes wide opened, he suddenly kissed her leaving her breathless.

Mei jingjing didn't bother to push him away this time as both were in utter lust for one another.

She grabbed unto the hem of her towel with trembling fingers but to her surprise, he suddenly pulled away from her leaving her out of breath.

Li Jie had to stop himself even if he didn't want to, he doesn't want to hurt her, he doesn't want to touch her if she wasn't ready for it.

Mei jingjing gazed at him with her cheeks all flushed and her heart hammering against her chest.

"I'll... I'll be outside." without waiting for her reply, he walked out.

Mei jingjing slowly walked up to her bed and gently sat on it, she wondered what master Li Jie must be thinking, was she bad at kissing?, she immediately shook off the thought and gave herself a slap at the back of her head.

"Urgh!, Mei jingjing, stop thinking about him, who cares if he doesn't like your kisses, at least he's gonna stop." she thought but couldn't understand the sad feeling she felt.

Li Jie sat under the plum tree trying to clear his head, Chao Xua walked up to him and bowed.

"How are you Master Li Jie?"

Li Jie glanced at him. "What is it?"

He sat beside Li Jie with a smile. "Master, bixia has the best women in town, you should go have fun?"

Li Jie sighed. "I'm married now, how could I possibly do that?"

Chao Xua chuckled. "Right, I forgot you stop once you're married."

He glanced at Li Jie again. "Young Master, where's your wife?"

"Why do you ask?"

"Well, you're so alone right now, should I get your wife to keep you company?"

Li Jie looked ahead, Chao Xua wasn't expecting Li Jie to pull his ear the next minute.

"Ouch.... young master.... that hurts... have mercy master..."

"You happen to speak alot of rubbish this days, Will you ever be able to keep a commitment to your future wife?"

He released Chao xua's ear, he rubbed it painfully.

"Young master, why hurt me?"

"Sheesh, I only pulled you ear, imagine what I could do to you if I wanted."

Chao Xua doesn't seem threatened by his words and even moved closer.

"Young master, isn't that what happened to master weng Lie?, he wasn't committed and his wife left him."

Li Jie sighed. "If anyone else said that to me, I'd kill them but since it's you, I have no problem."

Chao Xua smiled. "Was it true his wife took interest in you? isn't that the reason weng Lie hates you till now?"

Mei jingjing happened to show up and heard their conversation, she froze at Chao xua's words, weng Lie had a wife?, who took interest in Li Jie?!.

Chao Xua stopped talking the minute he saw Mei jingjing, he got to his feet and bowed politely.

"Greetings princess."

Li Jie turned around and saw Mei jingjing standing close to the plum tree, Mei jingjing's heart skipped a beat as she met his eyes, he turned away. Mei jingjing slowly walked up to him.

Chao Xua smiled at her. "Princess, please sit."

Mei jingjing smiled at him and sat beside Li Jie who looked away. Chao Xua smiled seeing them together.

"Young master has been so bored without you here." he said sweetly, Li Jie shot him a deadly glare making the hair at Chao xua's back stand.

"I.... I'm leaving now." he walked out.

The breeze blew gently as Mei jingjing and Li Jie sat together under the plum tree, she finally glanced at him.

"You never told me master weng Lie was married?" she said.

"He still is, his wife just isn't living with him any longer."

"Chao Xua said something about him hating you cause his wife took interest in you?"

Li Jie sighed, of course this wife of his could have heard that and nothing else. He nodded.

"Why's that?" she asked, she couldn't understand why she kept asking master Li Jie this questions but continued either ways.

"Well, weng Lie wasn't committed and his wife wanted me, that's it."

Mei jingjing eyed him suspiciously. "Did you go close to weng Lie's wife?"

"Of course not, what would that make me?" he couldn't believe she just asked him that.

"Calm down, I only asked." she pretended not to be bothered but deep down, she was relieved he didn't do such an act.

"Is that the reason you and master weng Lie never got along?"

"We never got along since the day I was born, it just grew worse when his wife came after me."

"I don't understand you and your brother at all, you two are hardly around each other and when you get the chance to meet, you two feel suffocated by it."

Li Jie scoffed. "It's just my bad luck isn't it?"

A maid suddenly brought their meals, a bowl of zhajiangmian known as fried sauce noodles.

She set it down on a table in front of them, Mei jingjing's eyes lightened up at the sight of the sweet dish, Li Jie thanked the maid who nodded shyly and walked out.

Mei jingjing already held her chop sticks and began to devour her food, it tasted amazing, she didn't stop.

Li Jie ate his meal quietly only to glance up at his wife to see her devouring her food, his chopstick stopped halfway close to his mouth as he gazed at his wife, how was that large piece able to fit into that small mouth of hers?, she kept eating untill her bowl was empty and Li Jie hasn't even reached a quarter of his meal.

Mei jingjing smiled and glanced at the door.

"Excuse me maid, I need one more bowl of Zhajiangmian please?"

The maid nodded and left, Li Jie stared at his wife wide eyed, this wife of his is such a glutton.

Mei jingjing glanced at him and met his gaze, has he been staring at her all this while?, she gave a slight laugh.

"Y... you see I've been a fast eater since I was little."

He rather not speak, he faced his food instead, Mei jingjing poked her chopping stick impatiently.

"Where's the food?" she asked while the maid hurried to set it up.

The breeze fluttered the plum tree dropping soft plum petals on the young couples, they were both struck by it and glanced up at the plum tree, it looked like some rom-com happening in real life.

Li Jie shrugged it off and ate his food while Mei jingjing felt the petals where a disturbance and tried to shove it away, she noticed one of the petals wanting to fall right into Li Jie's food but she caught the petal on time which Li Jie didn't notice and grabbed her hand thinking she wanted to cause trouble again.

For a few heart stopping seconds, their eyes clashed, golden eyes against deep brown as the soft petals continued to drop on them. Mei jingjing slowly opened her hands and he saw the pink petals in her soft fair palm.

"I was stopping it from getting into your food." she said innocently.

He averted his gaze back at her and she smiled throwing the petal away.

Li Jie dropped his food and got to his feet, Mei jingjing wondered were he was going to, she glanced at his food and her eyes widened in disbelief.

How could leave such a delicious meal unfinished?

Li Jie walked back to her and got her to her feet.

"Let's go inside."

"I can't, my meal hasn't arrived yet." she pouted.

Great, so food actually matters more than him now?

"Let's go" he took her in while she struggled not to go.

The maid showed up but met no one under the plum tree.

Leader Chang was meditating at the Bixia temple when someone walked up to him, he smirked.

"Leader Chang, are you busy?"

Leader Chang Chuckled. "Chaoxiang, what brings you to the Bixia temple." he asked with his eyes still closed.

Chaoxiang was impressed and sat beside him. "I'm just thinking, when are you going to tell that human he can't escape the lightning."

Leader Chang smiled. "Who said he's trying to escape it?"

Chaoxiang got even more confused. "What do you mean?"

"He'll definitely be struck by the lightning, there's no much time left."

Chaoxiang smirked not untill the old man added. "But that doesn't mean he won't get to stop you all."

"How will he stop me when he'll be struck?"

leader Chang Chuckled. "I Know you aren't here to hurt me so I'll be honest with you." he opened his eyes and glanced at the fire beast beside him.

"His end is near and so is your downfall." leader Chang Chuckled and got to his feet leaving the temple and the confused Chaoxiang to himself.

Chaoxiang was confused, if Li Jie gets struck, shouldn't that be a victory for him rather than his downfall?, this old man keeps spitting out rubbish, the fire beast was disgruntled.

Mei jingjing was fast asleep when her birthmark start to hurt again, she was in a land, no, she was back at Lijiang kingdom?!,

she stared around. How's that even possible?!

The once peaceful Lijiang looked like a battle field with houses destroyed and a lot more damages done.

Far ahead she could see Li Jie facing the three beasts alone but what caught her off guard was the darkness of the cloud, Li Jie had gotten on a horse and rode far away from Lijiang kingdom with the dark cloud following his trail, Mei jingjing could see Ray's of lightning in the clouds.

Was Li Jie leading the dark cloud away from Lijiang kingdom?, why was the cloud after him?, Mei jingjing could feel her heart getting heavy as she followed him, the Queen was on her knees crying her eyes out to her son, what is going on here?!.

Li Jie got down from the horse and was taken to the sky by some invisible force, he stared at everyone who cried as they weren't ready to let him go, he only smiled at them but he was mostly smiling at Mei jingjing who wasn't understanding the whole scenario untill suddenly, a sharp Ray of lightning striked Li Jie.

Mei jingjing felt her heart stop as she watched Li Jie getting struck by such a powerful lightning, the lightning didn't stop but instead added more current, the pain was clearly written on Li Jie's face, Queen Jiaying called out to her son who was getting struck but was held down by guards stopping her from going further.

Mei jingjing felt her birthmark hurt even more as she watched the horrifying scene, no no, Master Li Jie!.

Without thinking, she ran straight to him.
