A little too easy

The door was burst opened by a strong powerful force making everyone at the lounge gasp in fear.

Queen Jiaying's eyes grew wider when lifeless bodies of her guards were being dragged into the room by a white haired yokai.

"Well well well, i see no one is excited to see me, so sad cause I even brought a welcome gift."

He dropped the lifeless bodies in front of Queen Jiaying, a guard stepped forward to protect the Queen but she stopped him and kept her gaze on the yokai.

"What do you want?"

The yokai tsked. "You're certainly no fun but I'll tell you anyways." he smirked.

"Your son, were is he?"

"In a place you'll never find him!" she strained her neck, fear and rage building inside of her.

The yokai took a seat beside the clansmen with his legs crossed as he used his staff to tap one of the clansmen who went stiff immediately.

"Did you hear that, she says I'll never find him, do you also believe it?"

The clansmen dropped into a cold sweat fearing for their lives. the yokai chuckled.

"You don't have to be scared, I'm not here to hurt you. I only want to hurt her son so you're safe don't worry."

The Queen got to her feet. "You beast!" she was enraged by his words. "You only want to hurt my son?, what did he do to you?!"

The yokai gasped pretending to be frightened by her words. "Oh my, I'm so sorry." he suddenly chuckled coldly.

"Your son has something of mine and I want it back."

"You'll never get those powers, this is the reason why the seal took your powers and had you locked up all this years, your taste for power is sickening!!"

The yokai sighed. "Your son isn't here is he?"

"No."

"Then I'll find him and when I do, I'm taking my full powers back."

"What makes you think you can defeat my son?"

The yokai got to his feet. " How old is your son, twenty years I assume, he's not strong enough to access all his powers, I heard he tried and ended up causing a lot of damage." he smirked. "I'm a five hundred years old yokai beast, what makes you think he's a match for me?"

"Your powers are nothing compared to his, he was gifted by the spirit seal and once he finds all three half of the seals, you'll be gone for good!"

The yokai rolled his eyes at her words and turned around to leave. "We'll definitely see if that's ever going to happen. Time is obviously running out and if he doesn't get the seal before the time is up" he smirked.

"You Know what will happen."

He stopped at the door. "Oh yes, once I find your son and get my powers back?, I'll slice him into pieces and send it to you as my victory gift." his murderous laughter filled the air and he was out of sight.

The Queen slumped to her knees, the terrified maidens hurried up to her wanting to get her back to her feet.

"My son!!" the Queen was petrified knowing fully well the extent this beasts could go to just to get what they want, she prayed silently for Li Jie to get the seals on time before the time runs out.

Mei jingjing and Li Jie still rode in the same horse, weng Lie trailed behind glancing through a map.

"Mother clearly stated the first seal under the Zhening river."

"Which part do we take then?"

weng Lie flipped the map up and down with a confused gaze.

"I don't really understand this map."

Mei jingjing glanced at him. "Hand it to me, I can read maps."

weng Lie moved his horse closer to her before handing it to Mei jingjing. her eyes raked over the map.

"What does it say?" Li Jie asked.

"Hmn, we heard north which will practically lead us to jishin mountain, Zhening river is the closest to the place."

"Then we'll head there." he pulled unto the rein making the horse gallop ahead.

They travelled for a whole four hours without stopping, Mei jingjing was starting to get used to the riding thing.

They arrived at jishin mountain, it was a small village which looked cheerful and the streets buzzling with farmers and market people who stared at them with a curious gaze, it made Mei jingjing feel anxious she held unto Li Jie tighter.

He tensed up at it, but kept moving forward, weng Lie moved his horse closer to them.

"We have to ask this people what part leads to Zhening river."

Mei jingjing nodded in agreement. "Yes, they might be able to help us."

The guards came down from their horses and asked people for directions to Zhening river. The people were kind enough to tell them what part led to Zhening river.

The guards got on their horses. "Young master, they made it clear it's down the path."

Li Jie glanced at him. "Lead the way."

The guards nodded and stepped forward directing them to the path.

They passed a valley and continued to move down the path till they came across a heavy waterfall surrounded by vast mountain tree's, the landscape change color providing a vivid backdrop of autumnal hues.

It's dazzling beauty stunned all of them.

Mei jingjing stared in amazement. "This is beautiful."

They got down from their horses and stared at the waterfall.

"This is it but where's the seal?"

"It has to be hidden around here, let's split up and take a look." Li Jie said thoughtfully which made weng Lie frown.

"You can't give orders, that's what I'm here for." he glanced at the guards.

"Everyone split up and look around." he said in a commanding tone, Li Jie rolled his eyes at him and walked out. Mei jingjing tagged along with him as they both looked around together.

"How do we find the half seal?" she asked.

"We won't find it if you keep talking, look with your eyes not with your mouth." he said in a grumpy tone, she pouted in annoyance.

"You're so mean!, I rather look for it myself hmph!!" she walked out leaving him behind, he's so rude and grumpy all the time! The more she thought about it, the more frustrated she gets.

Li Jie continued to search behind the bushes and every corner but no trace, where could the half seal be?

He gazed at the waterfall, he didn't know why but he was suddenly drawn to it, he studied the waterfall for a bit longer and his eyes caught a glimpse of something, there's a cave behind the waterfall.

Mei jingjing walked up to him. "Any clue?"

"There's a cave behind the waterfall."

"Huh?" Mei jingjing squinted her big eyes at the waterfall and she could also make out an entrance from it, she grinned.

"You're right, there really is a cave." she exclaimed and suddenly looked lost scratching her head.

"How do we go in, that waterfall is super strong it could wash us away with it's heavy current if we dare to swim past it"

Li Jie raised a brow at her. "That's where I come in."

He averted his gaze to the waterfall and stretched his arm forward balling his hands slowly into tight fist, the heavy waterfall responded to his powers and began to split in two forming a huge path way.

Mei jingjing jumped in excitement and clapped her hands.

"You did it!"

weng Lie and the guards showed up.

"What's..." they paused and stared at the huge waterfall which had suddenly cleared a path leaving them awestruck.

"Let's go now."

They all raced to the cave, the waterfall closed up immediately they stepped into the cave.

Inside the cave, there was a path and the waters shun blue adding a little light up in the cave, they all stared in total amazement.

Mei jingjing allowed her fingers run through the texture of the wall.

"I don't think the people of Zhening have an idea about this cave."

"Let's find the seal and leave." weng Lie ordered but Mei jingjing couldn't help but feel something was wrong,her birthmark hurt as well, finding the seal wasn't meant to be this easy, this cave gave her a negative feeling about this place.

They walked further untill they came across a seal on the wall. weng Lie smiled triumphantly.

"We've found the seal." he wanted to go grab it but Mei jingjing stopped him.

"Wait, don't you think this has been a little too easy?" she asked

Li Jie nodded in agreement. "She's right, something seems off."

"Should we look around master?" Haorang asked.

Li Jie walked to a lake at the edge of the cave, he stared curiously at it finding it strange not untill something jumped out of the lake but Li Jie wasn't quick enough to get out of the way and was dragged into the water. weng Lie and the guards froze in complete shock.

What the hell was that?!

Mei jingjing felt her heart stop as Li Jie was dragged into the water by a strange beast.

"Master Li Jie!!" she screamed and without thinking, she jumped into the water as well.
