The scent of him wove around Ivy, knotting at her throat like a f*cking snake as she walked through the living room. It took everything in me not to gag on the noxious mixture of their smells. They were terrible for each other.
But Ivy wouldn’t see that. None of the girls that Liam lured to him ever did. He was nothing if not one big walking red flag.
He had been with Ivy, I knew it. It wasn’t just the scent of him that had braided into hers, but the way that she looked at him, the way she gravitated toward him. I had seen that behavior before in my last girlfriend.
Liam had f*cked her, ruined our relationship, and hadn’t even bothered to apologize to me for it.
Desi and I hadn’t had a perfect relationship by any means. She and I were too similar in all of the worst ways, and it had made things between us messy. But dammit, if I hadn’t loved her.
