Damien and Garrett were great listeners, I found. They listened to me without even so much as a word edgewise, as I rehashed all of Liam’s plans for the properties for them. I even caught them sharing looks with each other. I felt a twinge of jealousy.
I was an only child. I didn’t know what it felt like to grow up with a sibling, to share so many secrets and experiences together. Even though they all seemed to fight with each other nonstop, it seemed like they really did care about each other.
“Garrett, Liam told me that you know how to build and construct homes. Is that true?” I asked.
He beamed, inflating like a balloon. “You’re damn right I can. There are a few things around here that I’d like to fix.”
Curious, I pressed. “Like what?”
