Chapter 11: Close

I hadn’t heard the entire conversation but I heard enough of it last night. I expected Garrett’s attempts at winning Ivy but admittedly, Damien making his move on her surprised me. I deeply dislike surprises.

The rest of the night passed by in a blur - I couldn’t sleep, as per usual, but unlike other times when I simply dove into whatever work needed to be done the next day, I found myself unable to focus on anything other than Ivy.

Seeing her hugging my brother like that annoyed me, yes, but there was another, unfamiliar emotion nagging at me. I disliked it.

Feelings aside, however, I was not going to lose to my brothers, nor was I going to play into Ivy’s naive fantasy about mating for love. I was the best match for her and I would make the best Alpha. I would just have to show her that.

After showering, I spent the night pacing in my room as I worked on my newest ideas, the plans that I had for the property that I would show Ivy tomorrow morning.
