Chapter 38
“Then give me a kiss and settle back in that recliner.” Mickey did as instructed, and was surprised to find he was a bit sleepy despite his nap earlier that afternoon. In fact, he slept right through until the next morning. When he awoke, he saw that Chris was still asleep, so he used the bathroom as quietly as he could, then had a quick shave. When he emerged from the bathroom, Chris was awake.
“You shaved,” he said.
“Yep.”
“I need to shave.”
“On it.”
Mickey retrieved the shaving gear, and when Chris was through with that, he brought him his toothbrush. Mickey stowed the gear in the bathroom, returned to Chris’ bedside, and said, “Feel better?”
“You know I do. Kiss me.”
Mickey did so, then sat back in the chair to wait with Chris. They didn’t have to wait very long before an orderly showed up with a gurney.
“Where to now?” Chris said.
“Imaging.”
