Chapter 40 What That Man Left Behind

"Ok, fine, maybe I did think too much of myself."

Kairi pursed her lips and said, "If there is nothing else, I will leave now."

Kairi waited a while for Scott's reply but he said nothing, so she turned to exit the office.

After leaving the office, Kairi realised how ridiculous she was.

How could she be so stupid as to think that Scott did it for her? It was a no-brainer. He hated her very much. Why would he do something for her that would harm his interests?

"Kairi, oh, Kairi, you did think too highly of yourself."

After work, as soon as Kairi returned to the Mccarthy family, she was informed by the helper that Grand Master Mccarthy wanted to see her in his study.

Remembering what happened last time, Kairi grabbed the hem of her clothes.

She knew it was unavoidable, so Kairi nodded to acknowledge the request as she reluctantly dragged her feet to the study.
