Ch.1

The leaf village turned into one big cemetery, in front of the graves of his family and friends stood one sixteen-year-old boy, and that boy was Boruto Uzumaki

 "DAMN IT!  WHY DID THIS HAPPEN!"  Boruto punched the ground

It all started with the invasion of Code and his army, the shinobi fought bravely but after being bitten by the Juubi they turned into trees.  Soon, the people trapped in the trees were used to create their Juubi counterparts, and soon an army of these clones attacked the village.  However, when they defeated the clone army, the humans were freed, but they contracted a strange deadly disease that killed everyone except Otsutsuki

"I warned Code, I should have killed him sooner..."

Boruto said goodbye to his loved ones and left the village, suddenly Kashin Koji was standing by the tree

"What are you going to do?"

"I'll find Kawaki, try to talk to him"

"Are you sure he'll listen to you?"

"I don't know, but I'll try"

 [Flashback]

Boruto and Kawaki fought Code, who became the Juubi's Jinchuuriki

"Kawaki, we have to defeat these monsters to save the inhabitants"  said Boruto

"I'll get rid of Code first"  Kawaki started attacking the last member of Kara

"Idiot"  Boruto was forced to defeat the Juubi army on his own

A few days after defeating Code and the Juubi clone army, Boruto noticed Himawari and Hinata having purple spots on their bodies, the same spots had the rest of the inhabitants

"What happened?"

Boruto contacted Toneri to find out what was happening to the villagers

"People who were bitten by Juubis contracted a deadly disease"

 "WHAAAAT!, can they be saved?"

"Unfortunately it is too late, they have been trapped in the trees for too long, the disease is in an advanced stage, it cannot be stopped... They could have been saved if they had been freed in quick succession after being bitten by the Juubi"  Toneri explained

Soon Hinata, Himawari and the rest of the inhabitants were dying in front of Boruto's eyes, the blonde felt powerless to do anything

Kawaki was sitting on a hill leaning against a tree, still remembering the events of Code's attack

"Should I listen to Boruto then?  Maybe if I had done that, this wouldn't have happened"
