15 Work and nightmares

A few weeks passed since her first kiss with Fa Feng. Ever since that kiss they shared he was like her second shadow. Yeah he was surely bold absolutely shameless, always stealing kisses and at night he would come to hug and sleep. She didn't mind sharing a bad with those two but his kisses ware to much for her to handle. Like seriously who waits behind a corner just to jump at the perfect moment out of his hiding to scare her shitless! And then he kisses her until she forgets that she should be mad... before she could get her senses back he would be nowhere to be found.

Now she started thinking about practice her medicine knowledge. Maybe start working at the local hospital but she wasn't sure if she could take it being surrounded by so many people. She could be in a room with a few people but if the number increased she would start to hyperventilate.

So the other choice was to open up her own clinic.

After a long talk with grandpa Xu she got the okay for her to work but only if she let him send a few people to help her and keep her save.

Now standing in her small clinic near a famous boutique she was thinking how to get people to notice her.

Walking out and asking people sounds dubious. So she decided to let some Part-Timer hand out some flyers.

The decoration for the clinic was homey with bright colours and a light fragrance of rouses surrounded the area. Bright paintings of hills with flowers decorated the rooms and with big window there was a beautiful atmosphere.

Xaolin was with her since she didn't want to be left behind. Sitting around and colouring but every few minutes she would look at Ai Bo to make sure she was still close.

Fa Feng wasn't very happy to let her work but he understood that she needed to see people and start talking to other people then him and his grandfather.

She had to use makeup and a wig to ensure her identify stays unknown. She wasn't allowed to exit the house without that skunk! She hated that thing but she understood that if she wanted to be safe she should listen to their advice instead of being stubborn.

The first day was relaxing and extremely boring. Not a single soul visited them and the next days warrant way better but she didn't lose hope. At last she could spend time with her girl. And so she didn't mind.

Xaolin was extremely curious and inteligent. She understood when someone explained something to her. Asking about everything possible.

"What is this"

"How war is the sun from Earth"

"Why is the sky blue."

.... she answered them all. Maybe she should get used to it... being a living dictionary for her family didn't sound to bad.

But her favourite question was. "Do you like me?" and she would get to answer the same question at last once a day. With a kiss on her cheek and a big smile. "I love you." she would whisper to her and hug her tightly.

Today she was prepared to wait like she usually did but someone came in who she didn't recognize.

A woman in her late fifties and a small child.

"How may I help you?"

"It's my granddaughter she just passed out on the way to home while passing by. Can you please help her?"

"Of course bring her to my examinations room."

After checking the girl out she noticed that she was healthy on the outside. After checking more things out she figured that she was just slightly dehydrated. Hooking her up to an IV and explained it to the lady. After a while the girl woke up and was happy to be able to go home.

She didn't know that she just saved someone important. But she will find out soon.

"Grandma didn't the lady look like mom?" asked the girl. She almost thought that her mom came to pick her up when she woke up but the hair colour didn't match.

Her grandmother taught about it and decided against it. She did see a small resemblance to her small missis and her mother but it was not possible.

"No but we should visit her again and bring some of your drawings. Maybe you could play with the little girl that was there."

At home Ai Bo was happy to play with Xaolin before going to sleep and have one of her worst nightmares since she came here.

She was dreaming about all of her beatings. But why she knew that it could be real but she still was scared of what she saw. A woman beating her mercilessly while she was chained to the table like usual before starting to cut down her fingers and burning her flash.

She could still smell the scent of her flash being burned and the taste of her blood while coughing and screaming in pain but suddenly she felt at peace. Someone was shaking her and whispering that all was just a dream.

Fa Feng couldn't take her form. She was screaming in agony and her tears wouldn't stop. Xaolin was scared and crying while screaming for help when he got there. He had to finish some work and so he came late.

Now he was dealing guilty for letting her suffer from her nightmares. 'Why didn't I work faster or finish it tommorow!!!'

At last after a while she fell back asleep while holding Xaolin tightly to her chest. The little girl knew about her nightmares but usually Fa Feng slept with them and took their nightmares away.

"You are bad! Why came so late!!" She grumped at him.

She didn't want him there only for Ai Bo but for herself too she was scared of Ai Bo's screaming at night but she couldn't sleep alone.
