Even though the test papers had been collected, everyone remained seated in the assessment hall. The assessment written test had always been graded on the spot, and the results were announced the same day.

A group of Inner and outer courtyard Elders graded the papers together with great speed in a separate room.

The Elders prepared two lists: one list contained the passed students, and the other list called List of Excellence contained the top 10 who scored the highest.

As they graded, everyone in the hall waited nervously, and the atmosphere intensified when only five minutes were left.

After a while, one of the Outer Elders walked up to the square holding a list and gave it to Elder Agnes. Everyone knew that the list of people who had passed this year's first assessment was going to be announced.

"Martin, Loyd, Stanley…" With every name the Elder announced in an ascending order, students began to relax one by one. Of course, there were also many who looked very disappointed, as they had hoped for better results.

Mia listened carefully. After the list of passed ones was announced, her disappointment heightened. If she could not even pass the written test, then she could only focus on Academy tasks to get more resources for her cultivation.

Her eyes drifted toward Alex, and she let out a deep sigh.

Alex also looked at Mia. Her eyes reflecting her Inner anxiety, but she immediately hid it when he looked at her.

"This list only contains those who merely qualified; you don't have to be too nervous," Alex spoke slowly, and pinched her cheeks which made Mia blush in embarrassment.

Alex glanced around to see that many others had already started crying or controlling their emotions.

"Come on, seriously, Sir Alex," an outer disciple spoke loudly when he heard Alex. "You don't think she made it onto the List of Excellence, do you? She was a mere handyman disciple before she was able to somehow barely able to become an outer disciple after working for five years."

Alex frowned at him. He knew about Martin, who had always looked down on handyman disciples, but how severe was his prejudice against them that he was so excited about her failure?

Alex looked around and saw many of them nodding their heads and could only shake his head, ignoring them since results would be announced soon.

The list contains the names of 100 disciples who passed the test out of a thousand who participated, and the Elder already announced the names of 90 disciples who passed.

Martin was waiting until the end of the list announcement to throw every insult right in Mia's face.

Olivia, who was seated a little away from Alex, was feeling excited because her name had not shown up on the list yet even after reading all the names.

She had definitely passed the test, which meant that her name was possibly on the List of Excellence. Once she performed well after the written test, she would achieve her goal of becoming an apprentice of Alchemy Pavilion.

Anyone could become an Alchemist if they could refine the pills, but if you are a certified Alchemist of Alchemy Pavilion of Heavenly Star Academy, then your status is incomparable compared to others in the Eastern, Western, and a part of the Central Continent.

Finally the anticipated List of Excellence was announced by Elder Agnes, and Stella who was handing over the list looked at Alex in shock for a second.

" Olivia - 10th position." The List of Brilliance was being announced, and Olivia was first. Her eyes shined as she smiled with ecstasy. She definitely deserved her spot.

" Mia - 9th position " The announcements continued. Every name on the list was listened to intently by everyone.

When Martin heard the 9th position name, his face turned ugly while Mia was not able to control her smile at all.

" Aiden from Starfrost Clan- 3rd position ." Elder Agnes paused for a second and looked at her son whose face suddenly turned pale, and lowered his head in shame.

For most people, it would have been glorious; but sadly for Aiden, this was not the case. His family was the Alchemist Elven Clan from generations and one of the First rate clans in the Central Continent under the leadership of a Martial Emperor Powerhouse.

He was guided personally by his grandfather from childhood who is a Supreme Rank Alchemist who was even respected by other Martial Emperor Powerhouses anywhere in the world.

So for him anything other than the 1st position meant failure to him.

He had participated in this assessment for two reasons.

First was to challenge a girl from the Human race whose clan was rival to their Starfrost Clan in their Alchemy business, and second was to become the apprentice of the Mysterious Elder who was more powerful than the Alchemy Pavilion Lord.

Other Outer disciples were also wondering and discussing to themselves since most of them know the names of the two monstrous Alchemy geniuses among the Outer disciples and thought they would definitely rank in top 2.

But if that was the case, who had taken Aiden Starfrost place and forced him into the 3rd position.

It was even more mysterious because the famous Alchemy geniuses had all already been listed on the List of Excellence. The outer disciples could not find anyone that was missing.

"Looks like we have a dark horse; but who is it?" People started looking around to figure out who they were missing for this possible honor.

The whole place was suddenly cloaked in silence. Everyone's ears perked up for the final two positions.

Mia looked nervously at Alex since his name was still not announced, but big brother Alex still looked calm.

"Who is it, for god's sake?" People were becoming even more curious. They began focusing on Elder Agnes, who was announcing the list.

" Number two on the List of Excellence, Elena Phoenix." Another name came out, bewildering the entire crowd.

Elena, who was seated in front of the crowd and surrounded by her friends, looked surprised since she wanted to rank 1st in the assessment, just like her Elder sister Isabella. She subconsciously looked at Aiden, who was also staring at her in shock.

The tension was at an all-time high. Everyone waited in suspense to find out who it was.

Peter who was sitting farthest looked at Alex who was still calm and clenched his fists until blood was coming, and started shivering.

'It is definitely this monster'

No one knew why Peter was suddenly behaving like this, or whether there was anything worth shivering in fear.

Meanwhile the eyes of the Elder Agnes passed all over the crowd, eventually stopping on a young man. She seemed surprised, and when she looked at Stella, she was grinning in a wide smile.
