Why?

<p>Dove Hayes couldn't think of a way to get her revenge on Dylan and Veronica. Despite being angry with them, she can't do anything to hurt them. She loved them with all their heart. <br/><br/>She decided to be ignorant when Dylan came for dinner, She would just sign the divorce papers and leave. They can lead their life the way they want. She decided not to disturb them. <br/><br/>She just wants the last meal, she would share with them to be pleasant. She thought it would help her overcome Dylan and Veronica. She opened the gift she bought for Dylan and touched the jade. She remembered her grandmother used to wear a jade pendant on her neck all the time. It was the first gift, my grandfather gave her. She always wanted to lead a life like her grandparents and parents. Just by looking at them, you would know that they were head over heels for their better half. She would never have a life like that. <br/><br/>She tied twine to the jade and wore it on her neck. She touched the jade several times without knowing it kinda gave her a feeling of warmth like the ones she felt when her mother hugged her. She felt a connection with it. Strange but warming. <br/><br/>Right after placing the last dish on the table, she heard Dylan's car. Both Dylan and Veronica walked inside. Veronica hugged her and said "My dear sweet sister! How are you?" "I'm fine Nica. How are you? Dove replied. " All-Good! awwwwww the aroma is making my stomach crumble" Veronica said while opening all the dishes. "I have made all our favourites. I want this night to be a memorable one" Dove replied. Dylan urged them to grab a chair. The Dinner went smoothly. They chatted for some time, and then Dylan bought the topic that he needed her to sign some papers for the project they were about to work on. <br/><br/>She knew there were divorce papers in between. She never uttered a word signed where he asked with a heavy heart. She had thought of adding poison to the food or beating them back and blue. The very thought of Dylan's suffering pained her. Her love for him was true. She thought that leaving was the best idea. She would leave tomorrow first thing in the morning. <br/><br/>Today was their second anniversary. Dylan neither wished nor gave her a gift. It was she who would go the extra mile to make him happy. It has always been her. He just never cared and she thought it was his way of showing love. can anyone be this stupid? she asked herself.<br/><br/>" I feel sleepy, it was a tough day at work," Veronica said breaking Dove's train of thought. They called it night. Veronica went to the guest room when Dove turned to walk to the bedroom she heard Dylan say that he had something to work on and he would be in the study. He didn't even wait for her reply, he turned and walked on his way to the study. <br/><br/>She was the one who tried so hard to make this marriage work. Dylan has always been the same, never shown much interest in her. They never made love. Dylan was always busy. They shared a few hugs and kisses when they were in public or in front of her parents. He would stay in his office most of the time or I thought so. He said, He would make his business, ten times bigger than her father's so that she would be happy with him and she believed him. Can anyone be this naive? she asked herself. when she entered the bedroom she felt the air there smelt weird. She felt like her legs grew heavier with each step she was taking. She lost consciousness the moment her body hit the bed. <br/><br/>Dove felt pain everywhere, she couldn't move. The floor beneath her was cold. Her eyes were so heavy. It was difficult to breathe. When she opened her eyes saw Veronica sitting and staring at her. She had a weird creepy smile on her face. <br/><br/>" Oh! Sweet Dove, you are finally awake." Veronica said. Dove tried to move but she felt her body was heavy and painful. "Oh, Sweetheart trying to stand? you can try but it might be a little difficult. I broke both your legs and hands." Tears kept flowing from her eyes, what did she do to deserve this fate? She was ready to leave them and start somewhere fresh. But here she is lying and counting her last seconds. <br/><br/>"It gives me great joy seeing you cry and be in pain. I wanted you to cry all your life." Veronica said. Dove asked " Why?" in a painful voice. "Oh, you want to know why, because I hate you. Do you know how your life will be when you are constantly being compared to someone? I am always been compared to you. Look how beautiful young Miss is! Young Miss is so kind. I was adopted by your mother but you guys treated me like I was one of your servants. They all loved you, making me an eyesore. I have always wanted to be in your place. All the love and affection you had made me remember that I'm not enough. Do you know how it feels? I had that feeling for so many years. Your grandparents disliked me, They thought that I would be a bad influence on you. They never liked me. It was the only mom who showed me, love. I killed your grandmother. I cut the brake in her car. I pushed your grandfather from the construction sight. I said your brother's whereabouts to Dylan. I killed your Dad and wanted to keep Mom alive but when she looked at me I saw only fear and hatred. She was not the mom I loved. I killed her too. Dylan helped me cover it up making it look like an accident. Who asked your family to get the wrong side of him? See you have lost everything, while I have everything I need now. Things that were once yours are all mine now. I am the young lady of the Hayes family. I will be Dylan's wife. I own all your properties. You were past while I will be the present, it all ends now." She said holding the long metal pipe in her hand.<br/><br/> Dove can't believe her sister whom she and her family loved has turned into someone whom she can't recognise tears keep flowing from her eyes. 'Whose wrong side are we on? What is she talking about?' Veronica interpreted her thoughts and said "Goodbye Sister," before hitting Dove's head with a metal rod and taking her life.</p>
