Many people thing [Diabetes] is caused by a failure of the liver. It's actually the kidneys, and they don't leak sugars, they leak proteins. I mention it because Kronan had [Diabetes] at a young age, part of the genetic lottery that he had lost.

I mention it only because managing the condition includes managing (usually increasing) your water intake. That, and with the prevalence of alcohol in my world, it usually killed its victims within a decade.

Of course that's not what you want to hear about, you want to hear about Dregs squadron. You want to hear about how Sergeant Pisces abused us, which he didn't. Bastard had a habit of making me dump out my pack and inventory and taking out a book, reading off things, and having me pack them. He then went over what was left, and made a new list.

Never did figure out how that book never filled up. I have theories, but never any conclusive evidence.
