LUCKY MEETING?

Rex was never one to know about the criminal underworld.

For him, it's much easier to ignore the whole thing instantly.

But at the same time, some of the deals are interesting like he can't help but listen in sometimes.

He works at a bookshop that's where all of the deals are going apparently.

But he can't help but notice someone has been watching him for the last one week.

Rex does not know him but he can always sense that he is there somewhere watching him work.

Rex does not know what to do so… He left that person for a week just to test if he will stop watching him.

As he gets lost in thought about that person…

He got tapped on the shoulder by someone and he felt like that person who has been watching him.

"Hello, sir? Are you ok?" The boy asked as Rex nodded in response.

"Oh… The books you were holding! I'm sorry about that…" Rex answered as the boy just smiled at him.

"No worries!" The boy said cheerfully as Rex looked away smiling.

"Oh? By the way… What's your name?" Rex asked interested in the boy.

"It's Makoto Misumi! What's your name then?" Makoto asked as he looked straight into Rex's eyes.

"Rex Kalman… You have been buying a lot of books lately… Are you a book lover?" Rex asked as Kazunohana smiled.

"Yes, I'm in love with some books of an author and I have been trying to find the 5th book of it," Kazunohana answered as Rex smiled.

"What genres are you currently on?" Rex asked as Makoto showed him the book in his hand.

"I've been into Mafia and Murder Mystery lately but there is not a lot of interesting stuff in the books I can already figure out who murdered who," Makoto answered in a disappointed tone.

"The stories for that are really copied and pasted each book so what's the name of the book you are trying to find the 5th book for?" Rex asked as Kazunohana showed him the book cover in his phone.

"Ah~ SCI… Oh, book 4 and 5 of that does not have any physical copies yet and also does not have any translations on the internet as well." Rex said as Makoto looked like a kicked puppy.

"I don't know if I can even find the slightest bit of the last two books… But I've found a concept art for it." Makoto said as Rex smiled.

"But no worries I did find some copies of that same book in my forgotten sections I will try to find if we have Book 4 at least here," Rex suggested as he lead Makoto to that section.

"Thank You so much!" Makoto said as he walked with Rex.

Kazunohana never thought about it being a bookworm while also handling the mafia in some kind.

But this boy is really interesting… He's a bookkeeper he has a sharp memory then.

He was ordered to watch this boy and see if he will tell every dealing that he'd ever done here.

He's cute and showed more signs of observation skills that sometimes a bookkeeper does not have.

That's why his boss liked this boy enough to not hurt him…

Well.. The boss said to observe but he wants to befriend Rex he has at least one friend here.

He looked around the forgotten section and indeed there are a lot of books in every genre.

Rex looked in the S section seeing the cover and checking for it.

Makoto watched him as Rex looks through all the books.

"I've found some books with the same cover but only up to book 3," Rex said as Makoto jolted and walked to him.

"But it complete with special chapters translated… Book 4 should be around somewhere as well… I know I've found it one time…" Rex muses as Makoto helped him put down more books on the floor.

"How did you find it?" Makoto asked as Rex looked lost in thought.

"It got separated in the box and I've found it on the N or T section…" Rex answered as Makoto looked in N and T sections on the left and right.

"How many copies it has?" Makoto asked as Rex looked curious.

"Well… If I remember correctly it would be 3-4 copies of the book never got any shipments for it for 3 years…" Rex answered as Makoto nodded and got to the N section.

"Oh! I remember there would be some in the M section but there are only 3 copies of Manner of Death left in there." Rex added as Makoto looked excited.

"The T section has Transplant which unluckily only has 1 copy left and the translation is kind of hard to understand," Rex added as Makoto gets more excited.

"There are so many books of Mafia and Crime Solving in here!" Makoto said excitedly and looked over at the M section.

"Of course, the main or front section has all of the school types while this section has all kinds of fucked up or weird books," Rex said as he looked over each book while Makoto is getting the Manner of Death book.

"What's in A section? You haven't mentioned it?" Makoto asked as Rex looked nervous.

"That one is forbidden for reasons it's Are You Addicted/Heroin that one is the most fucked up that's why it's kept there…" Rex answered as Makoto looked at him with interest.

"How fucked up is it? Did you read it before?" Makoto asked as he goes to the A section.

"I've read it before when the translation came up but well.. Let's just say that the MC and ML are really the most toxic and it dabbles in a toxic relationship.." Rex answered as he got out more books in the boxes.

"What else? Did they have a book 2?" Makoto asked interested tone in his voice.

"You can find it out yourself if you want to take that one home but Book 2 would be on the Heroin side," Rex answered as Makoto cheered.

"What types of books have book 2 or 3?" Makoto asked as he gets Are You Addicted and book 2 from the shelves.

"That would be Manner of Death which has a third book which Spare Me Your Mercy unluckily that one does not have any copies here," Rex answered as Makoto has the same disappointed expression.

As Kazunohana gets the books he got interested in Rex found some weirder ones.

Rex found the other three forbidden books which were Beloved Enemy, CounterAttack, and Together with me.

Those three books are notorious for bringing trauma to readers that bought them.

As Makoto looked through books he found himself looking at Rex studying each book.

It looks cute and somehow sexy at how hard he is studying each book.

He can even see in the corner of his eyes that Rex already got his glasses out and wearing them now.

Rex saw Makoto watching him as he put the books where it belongs.

There were tall sections so he gets the ladder and started to look through each book.

Makoto might be the person who has been watching him but Rex just put it on the back burner for now.

"What did you get Makoto?" Rex asked as Kazunohana has 5 books in his hand.

"Well… I've found Transplant and Manner of Death I've got the books 1 and 2 of the Are You Addicted then gotten an extra Together With Me found that one on the forbidden section," Makoto answered as Rex smiled.

"Are there no price tags for these books?" Makoto asked as he carried the books to the outside of the section and closely followed by Rex.

"Yes, there are no price tags considering that most of them have no copies or very little of it would be free for anyone brave enough to read it," Rex answered as Makoto cheered making the books jingle a bit.

"Test of Courage?" Makoto asked as Rex nodded in agreement.

"Sure you can read all of that fucked stories one by one?" Rex teased as Makoto smiled.

"Of course, I can and all of them seem more interesting stories than the school types and you did tell there were toxic characters." Makoto teased back as Rex looked away and smiled.

"Those stories on your hand are really long like one of them has 300 chapters each… Be careful!" Rex said as they got back to the cashier to pack the books.

Makoto checked the time on the clock and it was almost midnight…

Oh No! His father would be pissed if he didn't get home fast and do some chores for him.

He saw Rex packing the books in a bag with a sticker of each couple.

Makoto can't help but smile as he watched Rex pack the books while adding the stickers.

There's sudden thought came out and he asked himself in his head if this was the first time Rex ever got someone to be excited to read so many fucked up stories.

As Rex finished up he gave a thank you card and even smiled brightly in front of him.

Makoto accepted the Thank You Card and then run out.

Rex can't help but sigh it was cute to see someone appreciate some stories that are far from normal once in a while.

He waved at Makoto as he runs out of the shop.
