Fall of crystal lake (part 14)

"Alright guys tomorrow we up the game we will shoot on teams, me and Kyle and you and Nancy we see who can shoot more zombies me and Nancy are only allowed 1 kill per 5 of yours." Riley signs while speaking to Sunny. "Sid will rack up kills in the streets and to add flair he can only kill male zombies." Riley signs. The others nod enthusiastically. "Good so lets eat and prep our weapons." Riley says smiling as he cuts open a couple cans of spaghetti. As they eat they talk with one another making gentle bets and pushing rivalry. Riley stares at Sid for a few moments before sliding the semi auto 308. Over to him. "Since we have teams we will use bolt action rifles you get the semi auto, still gonna destroy you though." Riley playfully tells the boy. Riley finishes his food and drinks a bottle of water before setting about cleaning his guns. Once he is done he sets them aside and starts filling a bag with the ammo they will be using the next day. The others fall asleep quickly eager for the friendly competition. Riley leans back against the pallet of bullets and stares at the ceiling of the storage area his fathers gun in hand. He could remember his mother handing his father a glass of lemonade as he worked on an old truck complaining as he told Riley what he was doing. At the time Riley hadn't really cared much. He was just enjoying the time alone with his father. Riley's mother had the same red hair as him and gray eyes. She wore jeans and tank tops everyday and a smile that Riley missed greatly. The boy shakes his head to pry himself from his memories. "We can't go back and we won't get those days back." Riley says to himself before putting his revolver away and drifting to a painful sleep.

"Tank pants painfully as he drags the latest batch of zombies to the pile now well above his head. "Seriously man are you good?" Rat asks seeing Tank hold his side. "I can't afford not to be. Brother I'll make it." Tank says. "Look man go take a breather in the truck we need you and dying on us doesn't help. Rest a little man we can manage a while if anything, switch out with me." Rat says. "I'm a shit shot and we both know it, plus Riley doesn't ever rest." Tank argues. "You aren't him and we make his ass rest just like I'm about to make you." Rat growls. Slim slams his guns stock into Tanks head hard knocking him out. The boy looks up at Rat and Jessica. Throwing the titan over his shoulder with a heavy grunt Slim puts Tank into the truck. "Thanks man." Rat says. 'Now you can stop bickering and leave me in peace.' Slim thinks angrily. Jessica checks her Rifle and dwindling arrows. Every incursion costing them 1 or 2 arrows from the bodies falling on them. "He didn't have to hit him, you know that right?" Jessica asks. Rat nods studying Slim. "Even if I didn't agree with it, at least he is getting some rest." Rat says. Rat looks around to keep up with their situation. "We just need to keep track of what's happening and deal with it as it comes." Rat sighs. The pair watch the area tiredly. Slim paces in front of the truck waiting for something to happen. "Are you scared?" Jessica asks. "Always but I'm more tired now. I guess I'm numb right now." Rat says tiredly. "Do you think its the same for him?" Jessica asks. "Tank has a lot on his mind right now ,but I'm sure it is." Rat answers. "I meant Riley but I'm worried about Tank too." Jessica says. "I don't know I think maybe in the beginning Riley was like us but anymore I think he is just part of this world and maybe if i'm honest not so comfortable back home." Rat says sadly. "Why do you say that?" Jessica asks. "He doesn't sleep and is watching us. He avoids us and tries to get out here as much as he can. I think Crystal Lake is our home, but the dead world of the zombies is his." Rat says

Riley sits up quickly and looks around the kids are still sleeping close by and Riley decides to get up. Grabbing a can of food Riley takes his horde buster up the stairs and decides to settle into killing some zombies. Riley shoots rapidly dropping zombies until the mag is empty and looks around at the carnage he has unleashed when he notices something. "Where have you dead fucks wandered off to?" Riley mumbles to himself. There were still a great many zombies down surrounding the police station. Grabbing the military rifle Riley wanders around the perimeter until he sees the zombies wandering off in another direction. "Why are you dumbasses headed that way?" Riley asks the separating horde. "Good morning Riley." Sunny says behind Riley making him jump a little. "Morning Sunny are you the only one awake?" Riley asks. The young boy nods. "Wanna get some extra practice in?" The older boy asks, raising an eyebrow. "Can I?" Sunny asks aloud and in sign with a large grin. "Of course practice makes perfect." Riley says while signing back. "Perfect" Sunny corrects Riley who smiles. Riley hands the boy a rifle and smiles. "Okay so now we are going to work heavily on accuracy buddy, so i'm going to shoot a fucker and you will shoot the one to the left of it this will help you with keeping track of your surroundings a little too. And do you know why?" Riley asks coaxing an answer. "Because I will have both eyes open?" Sunny asks. "You got it. So let's get into it. I'll give you a little help, for now. I'm only killing zombies in buildings." Riley says before shooting a zombie.
