Prologue: Separation

In the year 800 of Great Peace.

The world was split into two factions where the demons and all the other races live separately as a deal that was proposed to the Demon King to end the war between demons and all the other races—the two factions are known to be the Demon Continent and the Other Half.

In the year 893 of Great Peace, almost a century after the war between demons and all the other races ended.

It was a windy night in the middle of the forest, there was a man in white. He was kneeling on his knees and was screaming with all his might… And he seemed like he was about to break himself into tears. With his flooded eyes, he looked at both of his palms and asked himself, "Is this the right thing to do?"

11 years before, in the year 882 of Great Peace

Somewhere in the eastern atmosphere, there was a village in the forest near a river full of kemonos; one of the races that live in the Other Half— they looked just like humans except they had the characteristics of animals like having animal ears and their sense of smell is much better than humans. The village is called the Kemonos Village.

They live by harvesting vegetables they farm and hunting the animals in the forest, they also use the resources around them to make houses. All the kemonos there live happily ever since the war ended, until one day…

In the evening, everything was going as usual when suddenly small marbles appeared rolling around in every corner of the village. When four kemonos were sent to investigate, the marbles suddenly exploded, releasing smoke in every corner of the village. The smoke caused headaches to the kemono that inhale it. They quickly realised the Kemono Village was being raided by the human adventurer.

The males quickly armed themselves as the women and children were hiding in the house. They were desperately trying their best to defend themselves against the humans, but to no avail, they were outnumbered and surrounded. Kemonos were short on supplies to even fight back. The humans didn't show them any mercy; the young girls were kidnapped and the adults were killed.

As the situation got worst everyone was running for their life. It was extremely chaotic, and anyone brave enough to fight back will be brutally murdered. The village was filled with smoke from the burning fire thrown upon their houses, forcing the women and children out of their hiding places. With terror on their faces, the kemonos can do nothing but watch their children taken away from them. The shouts of the mothers begging them not to take their children can be heard all over the village.

The Kemonos leader was sick to his stomach as he witnesses his people in such a situation while he stood there, maintaining their armed men position. From the corner of his eye, he sees a mother about to be killed by a human while shielding her child with her body, he hesitated for a moment before running toward her, leaving his safe position to save her. The woman with her child runs to the protection as he distracts the human.

Pissed, the human pushed him to the ground quickly defeated the Kemonos leader and killed him brutally as the other kemonos watch hopelessly.

After a few hours passed by, the army of humans fall back after getting everything they wanted, the raid was eventually over and the humans had left; the village was left in a devastating state with less than half of its population and most of the survivors were seriously injured. It can be seen that the mothers of the kidnapped children were profusely crying over their children and some of them were crying over their families that were killed brutally in front of them. Dead bodies were all around the village, with their families crying over them.
