Decision

When we got to the monastery, the other Lloyd ditched me. I glared after him but then went to Lloyd's and my room. Lloyd was sitting on the bed reading. He looked up when I came in. "Back already?" He said marking his page and putting it down.

I sat beside him. "The other you was in town and told me to tell you what's bothering me."

He frowned. "Didn't you already tell me that?"

I shook my head. "Not really, no."

"Okay."

I inhaled and exhaled slowly. "Lloyd, I don't know if we should kill Liam. I know we talked about that already but I said that to cover up what I was really thinking." I fell quiet.

He waited for a few minutes. "And that would be?" He prompted.

"A lot of people on our side are going to die. I just don't like the thought of losing our friends."

"The friends who are determined to fight Liam?"

"Yes."

He waited but I didn't go on and I didn't know what he was saying. He sighed. "Y/n, they want to fight him. He's done things to them and they want revenge."

That was true. But..."Do you want revenge?" I asked him.

He hesitated. "I want him to suffer like he made you suffer."

"Lloyd," I said softly.

He shook his head. "No, he hurt you and killed you." He looked me in the eyes. "It's either we torture him like he tortured you or we kill him. Your choice."

I stood up. "I need to think about it." I walked out of the room and once I was sure he wouldn't see me I ran to the training room. Once there I started punching the dummys as hard as I could. I didn't stop even when my knuckles started bleeding.

"Y/n!" Harumi said. She grabbed my wrists to stop me from punching the stupid thing. "Stop it," she ordered.

I stopped struggling. "Let me go," I said.

"No. Tell me what's wrong."

"No."

Nya, Pixel, Skylar, and Vania came in. "What's going on?" Nya asked.

"She's punching the dummy so hard that her knuckles are bleeding," Harumi said.

"Why?" Vania asked.

"That's what I'm trying to figure out."

"It's none of your business," I snapped.

They all looked at each other. "Y/n, you never let your anger get a hold of you like this," Nya said gently. "If you tell us, we could help."

I looked at them each. "The only way you could help is if you murdered my husband."

Skylar blinked. "You're mad at Lloyd?"

I glared. "Pissed would be a better word," Vania said.

"Let me go," I growled at Harumi.

She raised an eyebrow. "Are you going to go back to attacking the dummy?"

"No."

"Good." She let go. "What did Lloyd do?"

I looked pointedly at the open door and said nothing. Nya shut it and locked it. "Alright. tell us," she said.

"Lloyd said I have a decision to make. Either Liam gets tortured like he did to me or he gets killed," I said. Then I realized Lloyd had gotten me off the subject that had been bothering me. "And that's not even what I went in there to talk to him about," I added angrily.

"What did you want to talk about?" Vania asked.

"So many people on our side are going to die and that's bothering me! All Lloyd said is that everyone fighting wanted to do this and then he switched to talking about Liam!"

"Because he can't promise you no one is going to die," Nya said.

My eyes narrowed. "Don't stand up for him."

"Okay."

"Back to the decision Lloyd's making you make," Harumi said. "Do you want Liam to live so he can do to others what he did to you?"

I shook my head. "He could go to jail."

Pixel shook her head. "No, he couldn't."

"Why?"

"Because if he can somehow come back to life after he's been killed then he can escape from prison."

"So we're back to death or torture," Vania said.

"If we kill him there's a slight chance he'll just come back," Nya said thoughtfully.

"That leaves torture and if we do that, we're no better than him," I said.

"True."

"What if we kill him and then dismember him?" Skylar suggested. "Then bury the parts far from each other."

"That would guarantee that he couldn't come back," Pixel said.

I shook my head. "Will we kill him then do that? Or dismember him while he's still alive?"

"What do you want to do?" Harumi returned.

I thought for a minute. "It would be torture to do something like that." I started pacing. "Killing him and then dismembering him would be better." Then I froze as a thought occurred to me. "Hey! I've got it!"

They looked at me. "Which choice?" Nya asked.

"We won't kill him or torture him."

They frowned. "Uh, you want him to stay alive?" Skylar said. "Because I thought we already said that would be a bad idea."

I shook my head. "No, he's going to die."

"But you said..."

"I said we weren't going to kill him." I grinned. "We do have a dragon who'd love to get his talons into Liam."

Harumi's eyes lit up. "Oh! That's perfect!"

"Nightmare will kill him," I finished.

They all agreed. "So now you have to go tell Lloyd and Nightmare," Nya said.

"Nightmare was eavesdropping this entire time," I said. "But, yes, I'll have to go tell Lloyd." I paused then hugged them all. "Thank you for your help."

"When Lloyd pisses you off, call a girl's meeting," Nya replied.

I nodded and hurried out of the room. Lloyd wasn't in our room anymore so I went searching. I found him meditating outside. I waited. His eyes slid open. "What's up, Y/n?"

"I've come to a decision."

He stood. "Okay. Which is it?"

"Nightmare will eat him."

He frowned. "Nightmare? Does he agree with that?"

I smiled. "Yes."

He watched me. "And you're okay with that?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

"Lloyd, there's something I want to ask you."

"What?"

"Why did you change the subject to Liam when I wanted to discuss with you what I was worrying about?"

He hesitated. "Y/n, I can't tell you none of us are going to die. A few of us will. I didn't like that I couldn't promise you anything that could make you feel better."

I nodded. "So you instead thought pissing me off would be better?"

He blinked. "I...what?"

I rolled my eyes. "You didn't even know that you had angered me?"

"Um, no."

I snorted. "So much for being observant." I kissed him. "We should get to bed."

He nodded. "Okay." We went to our room and fell asleep holding each other.
