“For a while your father and I thought you were in love with Jason, but then Zach came along, and we realized that you were actually just friends and Jason didn’t know.” Edith attempted to rise, but Zach put his hand on Edith’s shoulder.

Zach stood, “No need to get up…I’ll make the tea.”

Bobby’s face went blank. Those words swirled around in his head. No need to get up, no need to get up. He swiped at his eyes and ran out of the house. Jason chased after him.

Bobby stopped, and Jason grabbed his arm and pulled Bobby around to face him. “It’s Keith, isn’t it?”

Bobby didn’t bother to deny it. “Keith and I are no longer an item. We were just fuck buddies thrown together by circumstance. I have to take my parents home. They’ve had a shock.”
