Am I Allowed to Have Fun?

I woke up with a terrible headache and was greeted in class with the news of the UA festival.

"Huh, the festival." Midoriya said.

I kept my head down on my desk and closed my eyes, still depressed from the Shie Hassaikai incident.

"(Y/N)?" I heard Mina knock at my that door night. They had decided on doing a concert for the festival and I had given up on the idea that I was gonna get better.

"Hmm." I hummed.

"We're kind of worried." She said.

I opened my door and walked out. She looked surprised and followed me downstairs.

"JIRO!" I shouted.

She jumped and dropped the papers she was holding. Kirishima and Kaminari were with her and looked at me when I came in.

"Y-yeah (Y/N)?" She said, picking up the papers. I went over and helped her.

"I'll help with the special effects. Since Todoroki can't control the design of the ice, I'll help with that and other things. But no performing."

She nodded and smiled.

"Glad to see you look better." Kaminari said.

"Yeah, you looked really bummed." Kirishima added, reorganizing the papers.

I looked over the lyrics and hummed the tune that I thought went along with it.

"YES!" Jiro cheered hearing me.

"Huh?"

"That's the tune! You get it!" She said happily.

I laughed and felt myself melt back into the comfort of my friends.

"It's good. I like." I said. I waved and walked away. "I need to go talk to someone, But I'll be back in a little."

They nodded and waved. I went to Todoroki and Bakugou who looked up at me in surprise.

"I wanted to apologize for yelling at you two when I saw upset." I said.

They both smiled and it made my heart jump.

"It's okay." Todoroki said.

"Don't worry about it." Bakugou said. "I'm not one to get upset over petty stuff like that."

I heard someone snort and looked at Sero.

"You yelled at Asui when she said you wouldn't be popular, but you didn't yell at (Y/N) for yelling at you?"

I laughed and Bakugou glared at him.

"THERE'S A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEING ANNOYING AND BEING SAD OKAY?" He shouted.

I laughed again and felt a hand on my waist. I turned to see Midoriya who gave me a side hug and smiled.

"Glad to see you're feeling better." He didn't let me go when Uraraka joined in and wrapped her arms around me.

"Wow. Midoriya hugged a girl without getting flustered." Sato said.

Realization went across Midoriya and I grabbed him before he could run away.

"W-Wha?! Let me g-go (Y/N)!!" He squirmed.

I wrapped my arms around his torso.

"Why? You were fine a minute ago." I smiled.

Tokoyami was watching with actual interest and Kirishima and Kaminari came over.

"(Y/N)." Midoriya whined.

I laughed and hugged him tighter.

"(Y/N)." I turned to see Aizawa walk past and motion for me to follow. "Midoriya, Kirishima, Uraraka, and Asui, come with me." He said walking outside.

I stayed clung to Midoriya's side drawing chuckles from our friends as we came out an descended the steps. We were met by two people.

I gasped with joy and let go of Midoriya to crouch down to Eri's size.

"Eri sweetie!" I cheered quietly, trying not to startle her with my excitement.

"I spoke with Nezu and he said it was a good idea to let Eri come to the festival and experience it."

"Hey guys!" A cheery voice said.

I turned to see Mirio and gasped. I ran and jumped into his arms.

"Mirio hey!" I said hugging him.

"How have you been (Y/N)?" He asked, hugging me back.

"She was totally depressed after what happened." Kirishima said.

"Butt out!" I said letting Mirio go.

"There's a lot of hugging going on today." Uraraka said hugging Asui's side.

"I'll say." Midoriya said looking at me with pink cheeks.

I laughed and walked back over to Eri. She looked up at me curiously as I swooped down and picked her up. She squeaked but I held her reassuringly.

"Are you excited?" I asked. "Afterall, Deku's gonna be there." I said.

She looked at Midoriya with a hopeful face. I brought her over to him and he smiled and dipped his head slightly.

"That's right! I'm gonna be dancing!" He said smiling at her.

"If you can learn how." I snorted.

He gave me a weak smile.

"I'm doing my best okay?" He said.

I laughed and Eri's lips twitched. Midoriya grabbed her hands and pressed them to his cheeks.

"You're gonna see me dance and I'll do a good job for you Eri!" He said.

Her eyes widened as she looked at him with such admiration it made my heart melt. I squeezed her and grinned at them.

"Aww, that was pretty cute." Uraraka said.

I let Eri down and she trotted over to Mirio. He picked her up and sighed.

"I'll be on a temporary break from school until I can work back into it." He said.

I looked at Mirio. Memory of that bullet was gonna stick with him forever.

"Well, we'll be cheering you on." I looked down in thought. "I don't really want to do the festival. Am I allowed to have fun after that? Nighteye-"

My voice broke and I took a deep breath.

"I'm just saying, I don't like life moving on like this."

Aizawa sighed before nodding.

"Yes, it is heartbreaking. But that's the job of a hero. We win some, lose some." He looked at all of us. "But in the end, we just have ti do the best with what we've got."

I nodded and looked at Mirko who smiled sadly at me.

"I know Sir would be happy to know you cared so much."

I hugged his side before we all bid him and Eri goodbye.

"Well," I said looking at Kirishima. "Looks like was got a festival to plan."

Over the next few days, we spent the time practicing the special effects and dancing. But when it came to performing I ran into a wall.

"(Y/N), please sing with me!" Jiro pleaded as I walking out from the bathroom in black sweats and a black t-shirt.

"No." I said heading into the common room where we found Bakugou, Kirishima, Kaminari, Tokoyami and Iida.

"(Y/N) you have a beautiful voice and I don't want to be up there sining by myself." Jiro begged.

"No." I said sitting on one of the couches.

"Still trying to convince her?" Kirishima asked grinning at me.

"She stubborn." Jiro muttered sitting on the couch across from me.

"Sounds like Bakugou." Kaminari said.

"Shut it Sparky!" Bakugou said before turning to me. "Why won't you do it? I thought you were okay now."

I said nothing, looking on my phone to see a text from Dad.

~Hawks❤️~

I am coming Sparrow~

I choked on air and sighed, turning off my phone.

"Looks like I have to do it."

The others looked surprised at that and Tokoyami spoke up.

"Why is that?"

I groaned before flopping on the couch face first.

"My dad is coming."

~Time Skip~

"No way! Your Dad is coming (Y/N)?" Sero asked the day of the festival, we were up next and waiting.

"Unfortunately. He's here, he just speaking to Nezu and he'll come and see all of us before we go on. He's probably already here."

I said turning to look around. I spotted a familiar color of golden hair and sighed.

"Okay guys!" I gathered all of my class as the previous performers filed off-stage. "Before we go on, my dad wants to give a few words of encouragement."

"That's so nice of him!" Uraraka said smiling. "Your dad sounds cool!"

I pointed a finger at her a growled.

"NO. Do not say that. You will encourage him."

Midoriya and Todoroki had amused looks and the others looked confused.

"He's awful really." I said spotting him come up behind them.

"Excuse you (Y/N), but I've been told I'm a great father." The class turned to see him and gasped, shock melting onto their faces.

"Yeah, says your alter ego." I growled, shoving my hands into the pockets of the skirt I was wearing.

Even thought I wasn't a dancer, they insisted I wear the outfit.

"HAWKS IS YOUR DAD?!" Kirishima and Kaminari exclaimed.

"Sadly." I muttered before he appeared beside me and wrapped a wing around me.

"What she means is coolest Dad ever! #3 hero here by the way!" He said.

I ignored him as we were announced.

"We're up guys." I said pinching Dad's wing.

"Good luck everyone. I hear great things about you all the time from my sparrow, so I'll be looking for a great performance."

My classmates brightened at the and smiled at me. I felt myself turn red and open the side curtain.

"Come on guys."

We bustled out there and I stood beside Jiro as Bakugou's explosive entrance started.

"What am I to be?" Jiro opened.

"What is my calling?" I followed.

"I gave up giving up,"

"I'm ready to go."

I grinned at Dad as I saw happiness light up his face.

"Futures left unseen, all depends on me."

"I put it on the line to follow my dreams."

Jiro and I grinned, stepping away from each other.

The special effects team had started their job and mine would start soon.

"Tried all my life."

"I tried to find."

I felt happiness blossom through me as I preformed with my friends. A happiness called pride.

~Time Skip~

I was so Happy to finally be returning to a normal life style. Well, not normal but you get the idea.

But I was the day that a joint training battle was announced that I wanted to got back to sleep.

"A joint training with 1-B! Sound exciting!" Uraraka said.

"Uraraka, you need a different definition for these things. I mean, you thought my Dad coming was exciting."

Tokoyami and Todoroki snickered at my state of mind.

"Your dad's not bad." Tokoyami said.

"Don't become an enemy Tokoyami." I warned.

He chuckled and nudged my side.

"Seriously. I spent a couple days with him. I would know."

"I lived with him. I would know." I grumbled.

"Hey, pay attention!" Aizawa called. "We're going."
