" Who are the twelve?"
I asked again because she seems to be avoiding the question
" What twelve?"
" You said something about the twelve last night"
" I don't think you heard me correctly besides I was feeling sleepy it's normal for me to say something stupid "
" Irene you are a demon not human you could stay three weeks without sleep and you will be fine , I get it if you don't want to tell me, you're bad at lying " I said
She was shocked not expecting me to see right through her , raising her hands in the air " you caught me, I'm sorry if it was up to me I would tell you only Dragan can give you answer to that "
" Oh " I said feeling disappointed
' twelve ' I wonder who they are, she said Dan was the only friendly and less frightening one among the group, my ears are working perfectly fine perhaps there's more to it. I need to act fast it's better they keep their secrets while I plan on escaping I wouldn't want king Dragan to be after me when I finally escape because of some secrets, I will have to reduce my curiosity.
" I have somewhere to go, I will see you tomorrow Shara"
" Okay " I said entering the library
I spent the rest of my day in the public library after the afternoon tea with the ladies. Reading the history of Persia and the art of trade till it was dusk
" My lady dinner is served "
" Okay let's go " I said leaving the library
Following the maid to the dining hall where I met mouth watering delicacies waiting for me to devour them. Sitting on the chair I took the utensils ready to dig in when I paused
" The king, isn't he coming for dinner?"
" No my lady he's in his study room" the butler answered
" Oh ( chuckling ) I'm not old yet I'm acting like one, I forgot you all don't eat human food"
" If you don't eat humans food what do you all eat in Persia? In green valley the people there mostly make their food from herbs and vegetables, rugaru feeds on raw meat, vampires feeds on blood likewise shape shifters what those demon eat?" I asked stuffing a huge piece of steak in my mouth, " hmm delicious "
" My lady try the steak with this syrup " Tessa said putting the syrup on the steak
Placing the steak in my mouth I melted, it was more juicy and extraordinary
" This is heaven Tessa how did you know?"
" My grandma makes this for me anytime she visits"
" Now I want a grandma "
" I don't get it, you guys don't eat humans food how did your grandma made this for you?"
" Some of us are not fully demons my lady especially the servants "

" Ah I see, so you made the food?"
" No my lady butler Zed did " I turned to the butler and said
" You're a talented man it's rare to find men like you the meal is perfect thank you

" Because I'm someone of great importance in the castle does not mean you should tell me thank you for doing nothing all I did was appreciate your efforts in cooking this dish all you have to say was you're welcome or thank you for the compliment not thanking me because I ate the food, is that clear?"
" Yes my lady " he said bowing
" Good now thank you " I said to him
" My pleasure my lady"
" I'm not saying you should expect this from everyone, everybody can't be same. I know what's like to be a servant so when next I compliment any of you don't thank me unless it warrants it, do you all understand?"
"Yes my lady" they replied
" I'm full you can take the dishes away "
" Yes my lady "
After the maids finished cleaning the table I sat in the dining for half an hour thinking on how my plan will be executed
' Irene was right he hates women that push themselves to men
" Anything else? You can leave "
" Don't you ever try seducing me " I replayed the past conversations in my head over and over again
I need to throw myself at him that way he will be skeptical about marrying me or if my escape plan didn't go as planned I will know for sure he wouldn't touch me.
" My lady your bath is ready"
" Maria help me tell lady Irene that If she's less busy I would love it if she accompany me to the city tomorrow"

I twist the door knob entering the room when I startled with surprise, I turned around at the voice that sounded very close burying my nose in the chest of the immortal

" Make sure to lock the door and shut the windows I won't be back tonight"

Tapping me he asked " are you listening ?"
" No, your earthly smells makes me drunk "
I said staring at him in the eyes
" Listen woman once the maids are done helping you, lock the door and shut the windows I believe you heard me now "

" But please my soon to be husband don't go to your mistress and come back late, your wife got everything you need " I said seductively
He creased his brows, giving me a warning stare " you're threading on a thin ice woman"
He said before leaving
' woman? I like the sound of that, dear husband I love skating on thin ice this is just the beginning ' I chuckled earning a look from the maids like I was kind of going crazy
I put on a long night dress after having my bath heading to the bed
" When she takes me out tomorrow I will try studying the place and get some equipment for my sword it's getting blunt " I said talking to myself
