Kick the woman

Douluo Mainland

Spirit Pagoda.

Spirit Ascension platform.

Fan Lin was sitting on a branch while looking at the people below him.

One man and one woman, both below Soul Ancestor Realm.

(Elementary Spirit Ascension plane didn't allow anyone higher than Soul Elder level.)

'How should I attack them?'

He stared at his targets and then dropped off the branch he was sitting on.

He directly jumped on the female and kicked her on the head, then taking her head as a foothold, he darted towards the man who still didn't understand the situation.

One moment, he and his female friends were getting cozy due to the danger of the forest, the next moment, his female friend was ruthlessly kicked on the head from someone and that someone tackled him on the gut.

And most of all...

Why the heck is he so strong?

The last thoughts of the man before his head was twisted and death came to him.

His female friend followed behind him as Fan Lin crushed her head with his foot.

"Haah!"

He, after three enhancements of the energy serums, had a physique that made him stronger than many other power type Soul Elders around his age.

'Even though the main focus of the Energy serum was on durability, endurance then stamina while strength was fourth on the list.'

The current him can bash any of the Soul Grandmasters his age, till the time they didn't use any soul skills.

Everyone had different soul skills and even he wasn't sure that he could defeat every one with a single strike.

"Moving on..."

Fan Lin sat down on the ground near the disappearing bodies of the duo and absorbed the Spirit Energy that their bodies released.

It was the yellowish particles that floated from the body of the living things when they died in the Spirit Ascension plane.

Spirit Energy raised the age of the spirit souls and how much you can raise your spirit souls depends on the Spirit Energy absorption limit.

It also denoted the amount of Spirit Energy that a Spirit Master could absorb in one sitting.

"But the butterflies chased me for quite a while. Thankfully I outran them."

Fan Lin said after absorbing the Spirit Energy.

"Wu Zhangkong was right. The Spirit Energy released by humans are almost negligible."

He slowly started to jog towards his next target.

As for what he wanted. He didn't have a set goal in his mind. He was just wandering around the area for the moment and will decide what he wanted from the Spirit Ascension plane after getting his hands on the second spirit soul.

"It's not like I will come here every week. My next entry is a month away. Enough time for me to decide on a simple goal for the Platform."

Fan Lin stayed in the Spirit Ascension plane for a few more hours before leaving it.

In that time, he absorbed the Spirit Energy of 13 more people. Low level humans were just that easier to kill compared to Soul Beasts.

'A perfect excuse!'

'I am here to gain combat experience against other Spirit Masters.'

'Another perfect excuse!'

He looked at his Darkgold Dreadclaw Bear spirit soul and found no visible changes on it.

'I need to kill a lot if I am planning to increase it to ten thousand year old spirit soul.'

'Another excuse. Good for me!'

Fan Lin thought while opening his eyes and saw the Receptionist looking at him along with the staff member.

'Did my killings made them sus? I did read that everyone who enters the Spirit Ascension plane was monitored.

"Really good for a first timer." The staff member said as Fan Lin got out of the cold 'coffin'.

'Safe for now then. Looks like it's common.'

Fan Lin gave a small nod and went towards the Receptionist.

"What time it is?"

He asked.

"Are you okay?"

She asked.

'Did she not monitor me?'

"It's night. You stayed in the Platform for 6 hours."

The Receptionist said as she took Fan Lin to the reception.

"Thanks for your help today."

Fan Lin left the Spirit Pagoda after thanking her.

"Don't worry. Be safe."

She said as she watched Fan Lin take a cab to the Eastsea Academy.

'The Spirit Pagoda values him far more than I thought. If something happened, it would be difficult to save him.'

'For now I can only raise his strength. Fortunately the Pagoda is ready to squandered their resources on him and with that former Shrek Academy student, his safety is guaranteed but for how long?'

She thought to herself.

Spirit Pagoda Headquarters

A middle-aged man read the reports he got from his men before burning it.

"Strong physique, superior cultivation speed and high Spiritual Power. If trained well, this boy can become the best tool for me, not just me but my grandson as well."

....

Eastsea Academy

Night.

Fan Lin's Dormitory.

Fan Lin was practicing his inscribing as it raised his Spirit Power. No other reason.

The Spirit Pagoda had prepared a spirit soul for him but he didn't know it's age and he didn't want to lose a good spirit soul due to not having enough Spirit Power.

Every single decision of his now is going to affect his future. The incident with the medicine shop was quite an example of it.

He didn't want to repeat the things again. He had finally decided to get rid of the problem without killing as least as he could, so getting another tough situation by some bigshot was the least of the things he wanted.

He now had a bigger goal and that is to stop the workings of all the Spirit Beasts arena on the world, and to stop the hunting of Soul beasts, and to provide a better place of living for them, to create a safe environment for them as well.

'That's quite a lot.'

"And the hardest part of all, to do all that peacefully."

'Strength is necessary. Once I am strong, 90 percent of the opposition will cease to exist, the other 10 percent, I will try to be civil.'

"Huh? Done?"

Fan Lin finished his inscription and exclaimed in confusion.

His inscription that normally took him fifteen minutes was done in three minutes and the strokes were smoother and easier to draw.

"That's fast."

He muttered in surprise.

"But how?"

"Did I improve because of the improved mentality of mine? Did the acceptance that there is no need for the middle aged man inside me to show anymore made me grow into stronger person?"

"Do I have some kind of latent talent? Maybe it awakened now?"

"Or it is because I am now free of guilt and remorse since the actions of my past life and my mental demons are not affecting me anymore?"

"I say the mental demon might be it. Today is the first day that I felt totally free even though the my mental demon died down a long time ago."

"Yeah, that must be it."

He came to a conclusion that he thought of and decided to ask Wu Zhangkong later on.

'Taking help when needed is a sign of a healthy mind!'

"But before all that, let's do a few more to confirm this. What if it's a fluke?"

He said while taking out another sheet and inscribing a different circuit design on it.

"..."

He looked at the shining inscription that pulsed with Spirit Power. His Spirit Power.

He looked at the time it took him to complete this new but harder design.

"4 minutes 13 seconds."

He began to inscribe more designs into the sheet and when it was finished, he chose another sheet.

This continued on for the whole night as he finished a fifth of the inscribing sheet he had with him.

All because of a simple reason, he was improving.

He felt that inscribing the soul circuit became easier as he inscribed more and more circuits. All of them rank one though.

Finally he stopped when he felt his head was empty and his body devoid of the will to do anything.

It was morning by that time.

"My Spirit Power must have increased by a lot or I am hallucinating. Let's sleep for now."

He flopped down on the ground and went to sleep.
