Chapter 24: Shabby looking village

A desolated village surrounded by brown grass on all sides stood still, the people who lived in the shabby-looking village looked to be very fragile and boney. Very few had actual muscles on their bones a good amount of them looked to be malnourish.

Five carriages appeared not so far away from the village with a small squad of fully suitor soldiers the townsfolks looked at the strange group with fear and hope maybe these people will have something to spare to help make their lives a bit better.

Unbeknownst to these folks their new overlord their new is a fourteen-year-old girl who has a small fortune of her own. The carriages of the eighth princess trod lightly throughout the run-down town, the curious princess sneaked a peek out from the window.

The bamboo buildings look like they are on the verge of collapse and the town look like they are already one step into their graves "Lai Shufen when we get to my manor lets hold a banquet for all of the folks of the village" Lai Shufen glance at Qaihong Gho with slight shock.

"My lady, may I ask why?" Sighing the young princess stated her reasoning "A dog won't bite the hand that feeds them" Lai Shufen nodded his head "You are correct my lady" he continue keeping the village folk away from her carriage with great ease.

At the end of the town an old lavish-looking manor stood still seemingly lifeless of any other life forms besides the usual mouse that would prance about while everyone is away, the five carriages pulled up to the front of the beautiful manor. The door creaked open revealing an old eunuch he immediately lowered his head in a deep bow.

Getting out of the carriage with the help of Cheng Chin the princess mask-covered eyes scanned the old man, underneath the black laced cloth she wore over her eyes they shined a deep blue.

The information about the old man pops up in questions marks, the only thing that was clear for her to see was the type of disease he had. Waving towards the old eunuch I giggly ran up to him like he was my grandpa "Old eunuch can you give me a tour?" I asked excitedly and helped him up from his bowing position.

More wrinkles appear by his almond-shaped eyes as he started to smile "Of course my lady" he brought me inside and began explaining where every room is, finally he showed me the library tons of bookshelves lined the room.

The majority of the bookshelves are empty and dusty "Old eunuch thank you for showing Gho Gho around, I am going to go and pick out my room!" leaving the old eunuch to himself I went looking for Cheng Chin who was instructing my other servants where to place what as she is the current head maid.

"Cheng Chin did you pick the room that's above the garden?" getting straight to the point Cheng Chin nodded her head stoically "Of course my lady, I have personally set up your room as you requested" she replied in a humble tone.

Making my way through my new manor where the hallways are quite clean but I assume the majority of the rooms are still covered in dust since there's only so much one old man can do, upon entering my room my queen size bed that has black quilts and purple flower embroidery on them caught my eye instantly.

Looking around my room I notice new furniture is inside my room as well even my room back in the palace wasn't this lavish, this room looks like it came straight out of a television show that I used to watch on Lutum.

Looking through my wardrobe I noticed a few new outfits as well "strange I wonder where they came from?" murmuring under my breath I proceed to take them out to check their size and then compare them to my other dresses "Same size… Did father give me a gift secretly or maybe Cheng Chin bought me some dresses?" feeling confounded I place the dresses back.

Checking everything else nothing else seemed to be missed and all of the items that I had placed inside a pink wood chest are all there and no new items appear thankfully or I might have to give someone a stern talking too.

A yawn escaped my lips and my eyes teared up "I should take a nap for a bit" crawling into bed I let my mind drift off to dreamland hopefully no more nightmares.

"My Lady! You can't do this to her!" Lai Shufen pushed other blurred faces individuals to the side, a tall girl with golden eyes and slightly plump lips smiled as tears pour down her cheeks "Lai Shufen you are free" the drop-dead gorgeous beauty declared, Lai Shufen pretend that he didn't hear what his lady said.

They brought her up to a large stage that was covered in straw and tied her up, Lai Shufen punched the guards that stood in his way "Lady Qaihong Gho could never ###### she is being framed!" he exclaimed frantically.

He tried to make heist towards the emperor with papers in his hands only to get out numbered, The fully grown princess laughed bitterly "Gods why do you hate me so? Is it because I am a child of the blue moon?" speaking her last words she got engulfed by raging flames her agonizing screams echo throughout the whole capital.

Jolting out of bed I noticed my current condition my hair a mess and my pillow filled with sweat, placing my hands onto my cheeks the pang of hatred rose from the deepest part of my heart 'these aren't my emotions these are the original Gho emotions' this thought dawned on her.

Breathing shakily she tried her best to calm her raging heart "Don't worry Qaihong Gho I'll give you a better end" her voice wavered but her two different colored eyes burned intensively with determination.

She walked over to her vanity that has a porcelain bowl filled with cool water and splashed it on her face to get rid of any evidence of her crying and changed her clothes; Cheng's chin walked inside and showed her respect towards her master.

"My lady the supper feast is ready, all of our guests have shown up in the garden. They are waiting for your highness to make an appearance" once done with the talk she dragged me out of my room.

All of the sickly-looking villagers wore their best clothes once they heard the news of their new landlord was hosting a feast for all of them. Making an entrance I walked down the rock pathway to the open space where many foldable bamboo tables were covered in nice cloths and many simple dishes were placed conveniently in front of the villagers.

Making my way to a smaller table since I am the only noble here I took a seat in my reasonably priced chair "You may all eat, but please stick around after the feast as I have some words to say" the villagers hungrily dug into their food while trying their best not to devour the simple cost-effective foods down like a hungry wolf.

After the meal, the servants at my manor took away the leftovers to put in my freezer as leftovers for another day as to not waste money, the none perishable leftover was put in separate bags and given to the villagers who thanked me profusely.

Smiling I started my speech that I've prepared on my way over "citizens of Naxar villages I am your new landlord, I will try my utmost best to improve our lands and to get some sort of business booming to keep our small settlement alive! It pained me to see you all in your dreadful state" taking a breather for a moment I continued my speech.

"My reputation is known to be a Qi'less princess who is no better than a pawn for the royal family… Despite these rumors being half true I can promise any young or old fellows a chance at cultivation, I have been fated to meet great masters!" the village folks roared in excitement feeling less like a leaf that could only glide around by the wind.

"In a few days, I want those between the ages of 14-86 to come to my manor so I can test their potential" the villagers chatted excitedly at the amazing opportunity granted by their new landlord.

Finishing with what she wanted to say she walked back into the manor to check on the documents for the village, unsurprisingly enough a neat tower of paperwork waited on her vanity she grab the first paper and read through it carefully "the soil is too rough and smells of rotting meat" furrowing her brows she placed it in one pile.

She continued to sort out the papers one by one into their separate piles Cheng Chin came inside with a look of wonderment on her facial features "My lady what are you doing?" she asked softly like a mouse "Sorting out important to least important" replying curtly she moved a smaller pile onto a foldable table.

"Cheng Chin brings me my ink and quills also we are going out tonight" declaring this Cheng Chin aided her ladyship.
