2 2: The Difference In Skill

Getting in to my position I started analyzing the field of play on both sides.

I've been to enough training sessions to be able to tell which players on my team where good and who weren't. Ryo was definitely the second best behind me, and since he's a striker I was prepared to use him well.

So after the warm up finished the referee blew his whistle and the game officially begun.

The pace of the game was quick with Ryo immediately getting the pass. I was gonna hang back and see who on the opposing team was actually a threat.

You could immediately see that they where trying to shut down Ryo as they formed a triangle around him trying to limit his running lane. But with a simple one two pass the triangle was shattered.

Ryo charged like the iron bull he was looking to use his steel like body to tear apart the defense, playing another pass to one of our wingers to move past yet another player. But unexpectedly the purple head managed to intercept the pass.

I was stunned since for him to know where the pass would go he would have to have known that his teammates would be beat, the type of passes our team would play, and who would receive the pass.

After Ryo and him exchanged a few words he charged at our defense with two wingers near him.

The wingers ran out to each sided creating a space down the middle, purple hair passed it off to one of them who played it to the other one.

Since we where coming back from an attack we where very disorganized and couldn't function properly on defense. The left winger then gave it back to purple hair which on receiving it performed a beautiful roulette making his way past two defenders.

Playmaking, defensive IQ, passing abilities, dribbling skills. He was very well balanced as well as the best player on the field.

{REO POV}

"I finally made it past them, just two more left. Then I can set Nagi up."

Nagi finally arrived, he was sprinting down the wing ready to receive the ball, then like a needle I threaded the ball through to him.

"Go genius."

But then Ryo arrived on the scene and put a shoulder into Nagis back.

"Nagi go for the shot now!"

Though he was still unbalanced I just knew... I knew Nagi could pull it off.

Jumping in the air and doing a scorpion trap before converting it into a roulette turn he unleashed a cracking volley.

"Work!"

"GOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!"

{ZACHARY POV}

What the hell did I just see, that was some Giroud shit!

I though the purple hair was the best but... that guys different.

That's when my heart started beating violently, I started sweating and a smile creeped on my face.

"Damn it! How the hell did he score that!!" Ryo was pissed off. He couldn't believe he scored that goal.

"Hey Ryo, pick the ball up and pass it to me." My dreads covered my face hiding my smile.

"Hey you damn bastard why don't you pick it up yourself!!"

But with one look into his eyes Ryo could see he wasn't messing around. His eyes emitted a dark energy that made me nervous.

That's how Ryo tensed up and started sweating even more before gritting his teeth picking the ball up and taking it to the center.

{REO POV}

"What a goal!" Jumping on Nagis shoulder with an excited grin.

But I was abruptly stopped when Aomori picked the ball up and are already at the center.

"Huh?" There was something off about them, Ryo was visibly shaken and there was another guy next to him who I hadn't seen before.

"Okay everyone get ready for kick off."

Getting in to our positions we where ready to play again. The momentum was now on our side so we can't lose!

So as the ball left Ryo's feet we I instantly charged in wanting to score my own goal.

But I was met with a tall giant. So we stood off against each other getting ready to attack, "So what's your name." He asked me, "Reo, and make sure you remember it!" I said with a smile, "Hm."

Then with terrifying speed he moved towards my right side, I was not expecting that one bit, so I chased behind him trying to catch him, the other guys also appeared numbering in 5 so I was confident they could take him even if he is speedy.

So I go and try to cover his passing lanes though he did something I wasn't expecting. One at a time they charged at him but with simple body feints stepovers and half turns he annihilated our defense.

My eyes bulged out not expecting that as he kept moving forward into our back line. That's when his team just stopped running, so I stopped to turning back. "Ha, you have no chance now, if you think your little genius over there was good then you really have no clue about the world."

{ZACHARY POV}

Making my way through to the back line with a few of my opponents chasing from behind, I was still very calm and confident I could score. So once there CB attacked me I embarrassed him using an elastico to nutmeg him and he did try to recover by tugging my shirt though I simply shrugged him to the ground making him faceplant.

After eliminating a major piece of their defense I charged in looking to unleash a powerful shot in their penalty area though I was put to a spot when met with their goal scorer.

"You've got some serious skill, you really embarrassed Reo you know?" "So? What will you do."

He then went at me looking to take the ball of me though I tuned my body to try and shield him off the ball, then with a simple feint to the left and back to the right I charged through though he recovered, but expecting that I simply used a drag back tilting his center of gravity making him fall over.

Stopping the ball I looked down on him saying, "Your good, definitely the best player I've met so far and honestly in terms of ball trapping your even better than me. But for now you should really know your place."

I then see Ryo running down the sidelines yelling for the ball but then I ignore him, I knew the best choice was to pass but the devil on my shoulder said otherwise. Then flicking the ball up I hit it at the center causing the volley to rocket into the back off the net with the goalie stuck in the ground simply looking.

" Yes Ego I have a report to give! I came to observe the friendly match of Aomori. On Aomori I found 2 talents, though one of them in specific Zachary Ibrahim son of Manshine United defender Wisdom ibrahim. Although he doesn't play as a striker I'm sure he has the ego you where talking about, his offensive talents where absolutely extraordinary! His dribbling, height, and shooting prowess are all on the level of that of top tier striker or even better!"

"And on the other team I found a pair of monsters, one who is above average in every role, and another with superhuman trapping skills as well as a crazy shot."

"I'm absolutely sure that these three will thrive in Blue Lock!"
