"Using power rule, we derive the variable x to..."
The match teacher explained, writing solutions after one another on the board while the class listened and took notes at the same time.
And on the far side of the room sat Izumo, leisurely twirling his pen in boredom as he stared at the board in dazed.
'This is boring'
Izumo thought as he yawned quietly, beginning to feel drowsy with how bland the topic was.
He had after all, already learned this subject in his past life and to experience it once again was extremely tedious for him.
With nothing else to do, he kept twirling and twirling his pen.
And before he could notice, Izumo fell asleep as the hand his pen was holding stopped, making the momentum of the pen fly off.
"...ah"
Izumo snapped back to reality and watched as the pen dropped to the floor and shortly rolled toward his seatmate's chair.
It was at that moment when he was about to grab it that a slender and smooth arm reached out and snatched the pen first before him.
"...?"
Raising his head, Izumo saw that the hand belonged to Akira Tachibana, the girl he initially thought was a model.
And in the next second, Tachibana extended her arm toward Izumo with the pen in her palm, expressing to take it which he did so.
"Thanks"
Izumo smiled apologetically at having disturbed her and bowed slightly as he grabbed the pen out of her hands.
On the other hand, Tachibana who grabbed the pen merely nodded in response before returning to focus on what was on the board.
'Well, that was embarrassing'
Izumo cleared his throat and felt embarrassed for falling asleep as he pinched his cheeks to get rid of the drowsiness and resumed listening to the teacher.
But as he did so, he didn't notice Tachibana's gaze toward him, watching him discreetly from the corner of her eyes.

"Class dismissed"
The math teacher announced as he packed his things and shortly exited out of the room.
Meanwhile, Izumo also packed his things as well and was about to leave when Takashi appeared beside him.
"Oh, hey Takashi"
"Are you free?"
"Sorry, I have practice today. The Inter-High preliminary rounds are about to begin and the coach is hogging us to train"
"Ah... I've heard about that, it's some kind of tournament"
"Yeah, pretty much"
Izumo nodded, amused at the description Takashi gave regarding the Inter-high.
If only he knew how important it was then he would have realized how significant this was for aspiring professionals.
After all, scouts from all over the nation, even foreigners come just to see the potential talents that might show up.
And if it gets their eyes then it's a guaranteed shortcut to the big stage.
Of course, for Izumo, he had no interest in becoming one right now since there was still the Blue Lock project he was waiting for.
That one just sounds more fun since he gets to play against geniuses, even world-class players in the future.
While the two left the classroom and were walking through the hallways, a student happened to pass by and recognized Izumo.
"Ah! Izumo, hey!"
The student greeted Izumo with a wave of his hand and formed an enthusiastic smile on his face.
"Oh... yeah"
Izumo greeted back with a helpless smile and chatted with the student before they soon left when another student saw and greeted him again.
With reluctance, he greeted back again and made some small conversation before they soon walked away.
Meanwhile, Takashi who was quiet the entire time finally opened his mouth after seeing Izumo finish his convo.
"I'm friends with a celebrity, hehe..."
Takashi mumbled, giggling at the fact he was acquainted with someone famous while Izumo merely rolled his eyes in response.
After the whole school found out about his identity...
His life became a spiral since everywhere he went, people wouldn't stop bothering him.
Not to mention, this guy, Takashi had been muttering nonstop about it till to this day that it hurt his ears just listening to it.
It's not as if he has a problem with him...
In fact, Izumo thinks that Takashi is a good kid if only he can be a bit less energetic sometimes.
"Do you think Tachibana would talk to me if I joined the soccer club?"
Takashi suddenly asked, eliciting a questionable look on Izumo's face.
"Where did this come from?"
Izumo stared at Takashi with his right eyebrow raised, inquiring about the reason behind his words.
"I just thought we would have a common topic to chat about as fellow athletes"
"..."
"The reason she doesn't speak to me is because there's nothing to talk about, yup!"
"...I see"
Hearing his explanation, Izumo felt a hint of pity toward Takashi and merely nodded in response, not having the guts to ruin his enthusiasm.
And for the entire time on the way to the soccer club, the two just chatted, talking about mundane things.
Though it was mostly Takashi who was speaking, pretty much about Akira Tachibana.
After a while, Izumo got so tired of listening to Takashi simping toward Tachibana that he quietly opened his system panel out of boredom.
[Ding!]
= = = = = = = = = = =
[Points: 61]
[Bronze Chest = 10 Points]
[Silver Chest = 100 Points]
[Gold Chest = 1,000 Points]
[Platinum Chest = 10,000 Points]
= = = = = = = = = = =
Seeing the points he had, Izumo felt nothing since he already knew how many he had in his bank.
It has already been 5 months after all and a lot has happened since then.
The team had a few friendly matches and mock battles thereby managing to save up quite an amount.
And as he looked toward his system panel, his eyes couldn't help but latch onto the bronze chest.
"Hmm..."
Izumo was boring his gaze on it and had a desire to open one just for fun.
Although he had sworn not to open one ever again...
But that was old news, now was the future, and the past should be let go.
'Indeed'
Izumo nodded at himself and glanced at Takashi who still kept talking about Tachibana before he turned his attention away and focused on the bronze chest.
With a click of the panel, he chose it as a virtual chest appeared and opened as a blinding light erupted out of it.
[Received Talent: Charisma]
"..."
Izumo didn't know how to react and merely stayed silent, deciding to just accept what he got instead of complaining about it.
At least, it wasn't as absurd as the last one.
