Chapter 1: Welcome to Project Blue Lock

-1st person perspective-

The scene opens with a teenage boy with green hair and a muscular build opening a mail that bears the stamp of the Japanese Football Union.

"This is to inform Izuku Midoriya that he has been selected by the JFU for a training program..." So, it has finally begun.

Hi, my name is Izuku Midoriya. Yes, I bear a striking resemblance to that character from my hero manga, and here's a secret I'll share with you: I am a reincarnated person. Yes, you heard it right. Initially, I thought I had been reincarnated into the My Hero universe, with my mother being Inko Midoriya, and me having green hair and freckles. This belief stuck with me until my fourth birthday when I realized two things: A) I hadn't encountered Katsuki Bakugou, and B) I hadn't come across any heroes or discovered any Quirks (Meta abilities). This realization was further solidified when I saw Noel Noa playing for Bastard Munchen. It dawned on me that although I had been isekai'd, it wasn't the anime world I had expected. With this new body, I gained heightened analytical abilities, making any task seem easy.

I began training for football at the age of 5, knowing that I had a chance to enter Blue Lock and make my life interesting. I figured I possessed the same weapon as Reo—the ability to replicate any move after seeing it once, although I had to stay within my physical limits. So, I dedicated myself to training my body. I joined Aldera High's football club as the center forward. Through my efforts alone, our team qualified for the nationals, despite having a few verbal arguments with the coach, who viewed soccer as a team sport. However, he couldn't remove me from the roster because I was the sole reason our team had a shot at nationals. Now, though, I suppose Aldera won't fare as well in the nationals without me, as I'll be heading to Blue Lock.

Next Day

-3rd person perspective-

There he stood, Izuku Midoriya, right in front of the Japan Football Union, fully aware that this was what he had been preparing for all these years. He had been waiting for this moment, and now it had arrived. Entering the building, he looked around and saw a large group of people—299 to be precise—excluding himself. He recognized a few faces, like Chigiri Hyoma, Ikki Niko, Shoei Baro, and a few other canon characters.

"Tch, test, one, two," a voice called out, testing the microphone attached to his ear. "Congratulations, you unpolished gems. All you under-18 strikers have been chosen solely based on my criteria and biases to be here today."

The man's face was revealed. He wore glasses and had tired eyes, along with a bob cut.

"I am Jinpachi Ego," he introduced himself as the miracle worker, Ego. "My job is to turn Japan into a team capable of winning the World Cup." Although the statement sounded like nonsense to anyone else, Midoriya knew what the man was capable of; after all, he was Noel Noa's rival.

While the others in the room were busy searching for someone who could recognize the man, he continued speaking. "Allow me to simplify things. Japan only needs one crucial element to become the strongest powerhouse in the world." He stretched his arms out dramatically. "And that is the creation of a revolutionary striker. Among the 300 players gathered here today, I will forge the world's best striker through a special project."

As confusion spread across the room, I, Midoriya, started inching toward the podium where Ego was positioned. Ego pointed to the projection behind him and said, "Take a look here." A pentagon-shaped building was displayed, showcasing various facilities like eating areas, sleeping quarters, and everything required for football training.

"This facility is called Blue Lock," Ego declared. "Starting today, all of you will live here, adhering to the personalized training regimes I have devised. You will no longer return home, and consider your previous football careers as you knew them, finished." This announcement grabbed everyone's absolute attention. "But let me make this clear: if you can survive Blue Lock and outshine the other 299 forwards, the last player standing will become the world's best striker. These are the details. Nice to meet you all."

-Midoriya's Point of View-

I raised my hand, waiting for Ego to notice me. He looked straight at me and gestured for me to speak. "Where do I sign up?" I stated more than asked. Ego responded with a serious expression, "Just go right through," pointing his thumb toward the doors opening behind him. Ignoring the rising chatter around me, I headed straight through.

It took fifteen minutes for everyone to arrive, during which I found a seat at the back of the bus. The journey felt long, but I passed the time listening to music on my phone.

Finally, as we stepped off the bus, I looked at the imposing Blue Lock building and thought to myself, "This is where it all begins. My journey to become the best."
