I’M A BILLIONAIRE

Morning came softly as the first rays of sun peered through the window while they still slept.

Last night, Grey returned to the room past midnight while Enri arrived earlier but the both of them went straight to bed after returning with their mind plagued by different thoughts.

Waking up, Grey sat at the edge of his bed as he recalled everything that happened last night as he rubbed his eyes.

"Hyla, are you up?" asked Grey softly.

"Yeah, what's up?" I answered as I climbed off the top bunk.

"I thought about it a lot and…" Grey said before being cut off by me.

"it's alright man, no matter your choice I'll support you" I said as I looked at Grey.

"What are you thinking?" asked Grey laughing, "I was only trying to tell you that I've got your back no matter what" said Grey as he laughed.

"For real man?" I asked with a slight doubt.

"How can I leave you to enjoy all that fun by yourself plus somebody needs to watch your back and I don't think that alien can do everything" he said.

"I appreciate that Grey" I replied scratching my head.

This was more than what he expected, even if Enri was to make a different choice it would not be as bad as it would be he was left all alone. The feeling of having someone else who knew his secret and still deciding to stand by him was like someone helping him to lift a share of a heavy box, reducing the amount of energy he had to use.

"Have you guys seen my bag?" asked Enri as he woke up.

"What?" asked Grey confused.

"It's nothing" he said as he rubbed his eyes as he sat up in bed, "just had a nightmare" Enri explained as he ruffled his hair.

"oh…" I said after listening to him. "it must have been quite a nightmare to make you search for your bag" I said before busting into a fit of laughter.

"Yeah" said Grey as he laughed along.

"Can't you guys be more serious?" asked Enri as he looked at the both of us like a duo of shocking fools.

"Yeah, we can be serious when you explain why searching for a bag is such a nightmare" I said seriously.

"I've got it" screamed Grey, "It was a nightmare because his bag kept running away from him since it was tired of him dumping his books inside" said Grey as he laughed.

"No… it was because it was trying to eat Enri alive" I said as I shook my head in a voice which sounded philosophical as I arranged my imaginary bow tie on my neck.

"That sounds like something that would happen to Enri in his dream" agreed Grey as he rubbed his chin as if he had grown beards all of a sudden.

"Grow up, the both of you" said Enri as he slapped the both of us on our backs.

"can't take a joke?" asked Grey as he rubbed his back, "it really hurts man" he said as struggled to reach his back.

"You both deserved that one and you know it" replied Enri as he glared at us.

"Maybe we did, maybe we didn't, but I think I hit the mark with my guess about your nightmare" I said with a smirk.

"You guys are a**holes" said Enri as he turned to look at me, "But I guess I can live with that"

"we know and think about it what is life without friends who are a**holes and a perverted guy like you would make our life a little boring, don't you think so?" asked Grey.

"I believe it would be very boring indeed" I said as I looked at Enri, "I know you already made a decision seeing you this morning, so what do you plan on doing?" I asked as I locked gazes with Enri.

"Well I guess you guys know me quite well" said Enri as he looked at me, "but that's just how it is, we are all crazy so there's nothing wrong with going even crazier" he said as he laughed.

"Well, there's no need for the suspense this is not the grand finale of a competition where they are going to announce the winner, spit it out" said Grey.

"I know we have not known each other for a long time but I guess I can't ignore the fact that you trusted me enough to tell me such a big secret plus I think aliens are kind of cool even though one of them is trying to kill you" he said as he smiled.

"But I don't care what is the true meaning of life if a person is never hunted down by an alien?" he asked rhetorically, "I'm so in, after all this is only the third dumbest idea I've ever had in my own life" he said.

"I can't believe you chose to join this madness" screamed Grey.

"Honestly I was just kidding when I said I knew that you already made a decision" I said raising my arms up in surrender "but I did not think you would be dumb enough to actually join us" I said shaking my head in a disappointed manner.

"Why are you acting all disappointed? If you don't like my decision I can always change it" said Enri as laughed.

"Oh… there's no going back on this" I said.

"Yeah, I guess we now are" replied Enri, "alright, I also need to tell you guys something" he said.

"Well as long as you don't try to go back on your decision I guess I can listen to you all day" I said.

"Well, tell us 'Great bold one who seeks to find out the meaning of life by getting hunted by aliens' hmm?" said Grey in an exaggerating manner.

"Preach to us oh great sage of foolish adventures" I chimed in.
