A new day

The next thing I remember is the bright sunshine through the opened balcony doors. And Lilly was there with a cup of coffee.

"Yesterday you slept earlier Kelly …. when I came to call you for dinner you were at deep sleep. It's after a long time I saw you sleep so peacefully so I didn't want to wake you dear."

"Oh. I was so tired yesterday. I must have dozed off because of that…. mmhm nice coffee. Thank you, Lilly."

"Check your time dear you are late for school"

"Oh, my goodness! I am going to be late…"

"Better you hurry honey or else I would have to ask Shane to drop you."

"Wait what! is he here?"

"Yes, I ordered some fresh flowers from Mrs. Carter as we have guests today. Oh my! Kelly please don't tell me that you forgot about today's dinner with uncle Bob."

"No no no ….it makes complete sense. I remember about the dinner. I'll be ready in five."

"Ok! I'll tell Shane to take you to college."

"it's not necessary. I'll walk"

"Then hurry"

I rushed myself to get ready. Took a fast shower and put on my clothes, brushed my hair, vaguely to be more specific. As I just made my way to the kitchen to grab something to eat and to hug Lilly for leaving to college there was Shane. With my instincts I could get that he was staring at me. "Hey Shane could you drop Kelly to college, she is getting really late."

"No, it's ok, I'll walk"

As I said those words, I looked at Shane begging him to tell Lilly to let me walk. But my I think my thoughts are just confined within my head the opposite thing happened.

"Yeah, sure Lilly, ill drop her. I have nothing else to do today. If you wish I could pick her from college later, I think it would be good if she arrives early as uncle Bob is coming."

"that's so sweet of you Shane, Kelly now go or else you will be late."

"Ugh….. fine. bye Lilly"

When I was about to ride on his motorcycle, I had tons of emotions and questions running through my mind.

On making sure that Lilly was busy with her work inside the house. I told Shane that he need not take me to college and I will walk.

"But Lilly asked to ..."

"Shane …listen I know that you are back after so long and yeah you may have changed on the outside but I know you more than anyone. you mind must be still stinky as it used to be. Don't even think that after my losses I would forget all you have done to me and be nice to you again...NO. Mr. I am not going to let you make me a fool again. Just get lost from my life."

Shane stood there shocked as if his eyes were going to fall down and his mouth open.

"Kelly just wait. listen to me…"

Before he could complete what, he was saying I walked as fast as I could to avoid him. I didn't believe that I mustered up courage for to say this much to him. I needed to show him that I was not the girl who he ditched 4 years ago.
